GP rechargeable batteries available for reserve and collect at all my local stores. Includes the 9V (x1), C (x2) and D (x2) types. Not LSD, but seems an okay deal anyway. Also the Powerbank universal charger for similar price.

Cheaper that B&M where I bought mine last week. I wish it was clearer what power levels they were though.

Note that the C and D size ones are just AA size, surrounded by air. Proper C and D cells have a much greater capacity. Devices that take C and D cells do so for a reason: they consume a lot of power. So you will probably find you need to change these batteries frustratingly often.

Yes, you should just do that - much more convenient. The giveaway is that the capacity figure is the same for AA, C and D.

Where does it say the AA capacity? Is alkaline or Ni best?

Oh sorry - either AAs are no longer available or they never were and I didn't notice - but 2200mAh is a typical claimed capacity for an AA cell. C cells should be much higher, and D cells higher still.

Alkaline are not rechargeable.

Got the C and D cells-thanks OP-but my local had no chargers left.
Does anyone know a good deal on a charger that covers these two sizes?

Poke around on 7dayshop - you'll probably find something there that you won't get much cheaper without an awful lot of scrabbling around. Shame you didn't buy AA size and some adaptors, as you'd be able to charge those in an AA charger.
#11
Tried there and couldnt see any that did C and D.

Hmm you're right - don't seem to be that common. If you already have an AA/AAA charger I'd recommend taking those batteries back and buying adaptors for your AA cells, unless you want to go the whole hog and buy proper C- and D-cells with the capacity to match.

I tried the home del. before and it wouldnt let me but I tried it again today-same result.
Maybe they just found a couple lurking in a dusty corner of the warehouse.
Thanks anyway-the hunt continues!
