Terrible.

Amend the price to reflect the fact you have to pay £600 for the privilege of 2 year old technology.

AVOID.

But for someone who just wants to get an iphone at a cheap monthly price, i thought this was ok.

£25*24 months = £600. The same call contract on a SIM-only basis is £10 a month, so £240 for the same term. This makes the phone £360, about 50% more than a second-hand refurb should be.

In short, cold.

So you suggest that nobody takes out a mobile phone contract again?

Hot from me.

No he's saying the actually mobile contract is worth £240 and your basically paying £360 for a old model refurb iphone.
#7
Not sure how you made that leap, but, no, I'm suggesting that this deal is crap.

Although, if you want to get onto the subject of phone contracts, yes, I do definitely think that you can manipulate yourself a better deal by buying contract and phone separately. I did so myself, and my total cost of my two year 500 min / text, 500MB, 4000 3-to-3 minutes contract is £160, to which I chose to add an Orange San Francisco, at an extra £80. £240 for five times (or up to 45 times) more minutes and the same data allowance than your deal, but with what is in many ways a better phone, for £360 less. Or I could've chosen any of the high-end Android phones and still saved money, particularly once that feeble 100 minute of your contract had run out.

O2 useless 3g coverage and a crap deal, three are doing a better deal on this phone and they have a good 3g coverage
#9
I always buy my phone/Sim seperately. Works out much cheaper - you just need the lump sum available for the phone. For example. This is £600 - I paid £500 for my iPhone 4 (This is 3GS), plus a TMobile sim only contract special deal, £7.50 for 600mins/500texts/unlimited internet

Over two years this would work out at £680 based on that tariff and a 16gb phone.

14 mths ago i had a 3g on a 18 mth contract 600 mins unlimited texts unlimted internet for £28 a mth off o2 so i dnt think that is a good deal being as the iphone 5 is out soon

i'll wait for the iphone 5, my upgrade is due July,

£25 a month isn't cheap, especially as the contract provides less than most £10 sim only plans.

terrible deal for old technology..it is bad deal even for an iphone 4 considering a newer phone will be out in few months
#14
i'll goe for any network but i'll not with O2 again their 3g is sh*t,

Ok so i seem to be getting universally shot down for this deal huh
Could someone point me to a better deal based on the following criteria-

Phone must be any iphone and free
Monthly cost less than 26 pound
Network must be Vodafone or O2 as the rest have **** coverage
Company must have a high street presence
12 month guarantee of course

I will put off buying pending all your wonderful alternatives

Quite possibly the worst mobile phone deal ever posted. (seriously)

Key:

[i] = Point that lends poster a high probability of being an idiot
[k] = Point that lends poster a high probability of being a sarcastic ****

If you want actual buying advice, read up the thread and see what me and Xeroc said. If you want an obsolete second-hand phone at a bad price which you'll barely be able to use thanks to that disastrously puny amount of call allowance, carry on as you were.

get a iphone4 on ebay

and sim only deal with cashback and you would have a better phone and probably cheaper

Like I said it works out cheaper and a much better deal to do this:

Phone must be any iphone and free

Buy a A grade iPhone 3GS from CeX (~£300)

Monthly cost less than 26 pound

Buy a T-Mobile contract that is currently available on deal @ £7.50 for 12months

Network must be Vodafone or O2 as the rest have **** coverage

TMobile is one of the best networks in the UK...and has one of the widest coverages.. I don't know what you're talking about.
Company must have a high street presence

Yup

12 month guarantee of course

Yup

...Total cost over 12months = £390...
Yes you have to pay out a lump sum of £300, but the phone is yours, you're not tied in for 24months, and you have a much better tariff (600mins vs. 100, 500 texts vs. Unlimited plus a flexible booster (internet, unlim. texts)

Now tell me that you think you're deal is a good deal.

Cold.

Unless I'm missing something this isn't for a 3GS but a 3G which is even older...

your right when you click on the link it is a 3g....and correct me if i am wrong but apple are now not rolling out updates for the 3g making some of the newer apps unavailable to you
#26
That's correct, Apple no longer provides iOS updates for the 3G, and you're right 3GS is an extra £119 :|

You are better off buying one from Ebay or cash converters (with warrenty) than paying that price on a contract. I see what your saying although id personally not want an old model iphone, think of the battery life too, after a year it will last you less than 24 hours if it was brand new never mind a 2nd rate one it has been refurbed with (possibly)
