Great present and at £59 a Bargain seem to be £80 to £100 else where + you have Quidco and Clubcard points

There are a lot better record players out there but they are in the £100's

Why is this getting cold? It's a good looking player, big enough to hold a 12" without it going over the sides, and has £20 off the RRP. Seems pretty good to me…

Good price for this particular player I suppose.

However, anyone looking to get into vinyl on a budget would do far better by looking for a used 60's/70's era turntable.

Voted hot for the deal itself.

They are the same price in Maplins Electronics and they also have a wider range!

Probably obvious but maybe should be said. Looks nice but I'd be worried letting something like this loose on any precious records. Believe having speakers in the same chassis as turntable is not great idea. My local record library stipulated that they were separate (all those years ago) in the interests of protecting their records, I guess, not wanting vibrations fed back to the pickup? And I wonder how long the styli last on these things before they start acting as a chisel on soft vinyl.

As a way of getting sound out of old (probably knackered anyways) records for the entertainment of kids, I suppose it would be fine.

Not true......
£150 minimum for a turntable that doesnt damage your records.
Project essentials is as cheap as you can use without cutting your own groove on a record.

Otherwise as mentioned a japanese 70s direct drive deck from pioneeer technics aiwa etc would be a good second hand deal
The ion wood ones were £20 in my local tescos the other day, these are pretty much always this price aren't they?
If you only want to record your records to play on other things lidl have a Silvercrest usb record player for sell in store fromThursday 11 th December priced at £49.99.
