Red Cliff is a Chinese historical epic set in 208 AD and tells the story of the most famous Chinese battle of all time, The Battle of Red Cliff. A true David and Goliath story, Red Cliff is set at a time when China was divided into three warring states. To unite them together Prime Minister Cao Cao sent 800,000 soldiers to wipe out the South and West Kingdoms, whose combines army was a fraction of the size, but their resistance and courage against this larger army was to go down in history.

It's just my personal opinion. Like to think I'm a good judge of a film but each to their own. Would recommend a rental though if you are interested in this film. Hardly the best Asia has to offer,

As for Montblanc... don't prescribe to what a website has to say. I'm sure you don't think of yourself as a sheep so why affiliate yourself as one? Let people decide for themselves..

What else can I go on except reviews and then making my own opinion when I've watched it? I usually love this sort of movie, Seven Swords, The Warrior etc

Anyway, couldn't order from HMV (for Topcashback) so I had to do Amazon. HMV said (pardon the caps, i'm pasting what it said) 'THERE WAS A PROBLEM VERIFYING YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS. PLEASE CHECK THE DETAILS AND TRY AGAIN OR TRY AN ALTERNATE PAYMENT METHOD. CODE:10001 ' No matter which of my cards I used. Anyone else get the same problem?

Good film. It's the 2 part feature though rather the shorter version that appeared in cinemas. 2 parter is great but definitely a bit slower.

Hold on here. How can you say "Let people decide for themselves" after posting the comment "don't bother with it guys".

Hypocrite much?

Anyway, as for the film, it is one of the highest budgeted films in Asia and is definitely worth a look in for the expansive battle scenes especially and John Woo of course! Heat added.

Cheers, I've been looking for this to drop a little bit more in price, and finally got my order in, I've heard good things from a fair few people that have seen it. Don't forget Quidco all those pennies add up as well

Had no problem going through HMV for me but they already had my credit card details linked to my account.

Also noticed Ip Man for £6.50 at HMV which seems like a good price for a good film also.

Think it's the full 2 parts, it's almost 5 hours long.

Really enjoyed this, not quite the best of Asian cinema but still very, very good. I think if you're expecting some Historic recreation then it's certainly not that kind of film, but it's not as ridiculous as playing Dynasty Warriors either.

I am pretty sure that was the Cut down version that only lasts 2 and a half hours this version is the full release at 4 and a half hours long.
