Already have a DAB so don't care about buying one. Just wanted to say that it looks like a great retro radio. Brings me back. :)

Just bought this.the sound is very tinny.never worth the £59.99. But will do for listening to the football on a Saturday afternoon in my warehouse office.

Very true, but I've noticed Argos do it an extortionate amount.

No, I tend not to shop at Argos much anymore (mainly because of my experience with their RRPs in the past). A quick example would be the Sony bluetooth headphones they had on offer on Black Friday. Claiming the RRP is £99.99, when it hasn't been that price for years. It was on sale for £29.99 for a day, then they put the price up to £49.99. They then claimed this was "Half Price!", despite every other major retailer selling it for £30-£40. They also sell their console games for extremely high prices, and tell people they're making a saving (when a quick Amazon/Game search would tell you the opposite). I just don't think that's any way to run a business.

In my opinion Bush is 'Z list' category. Wouldn't touch it!
Nice colour though.
For DAB, always go Pure or Roberts.

It's funny when people are banned. Normally people like the baffoon on here. Joins for the first time, then just abuses people.

Not anymore I guess.....

I dont get people on here, yeah the RRP might be inflated (but at some point must have sold for £59.99 as they cant state that) and then someones saying it was £27.99, maybe it was, but the new selling price, and correct me if ive missed something here, but £19.99 is still cheaper than £27.99! So as this site is for deals...£19.99 is a better sale price than previously when they reduced it for a different sale at £27.99! Or have i missed something here?

Argos dont advertise it as was 27.99 now 19.99.
#21
Perfectly in there rights to list this item as 'was £59.99 now £19.99'.

It is a fact.

The point that the RRP is inflated is irrespective, 90% of items sold have an inflated RRP, B&Q Homebase et al are the worst - £1000 kitchen now half price @ £500, then following month it's back up to £1000 then another style which was £1000 is now advertised as 1/2 price at £500.

All perfectly legal as long as the item was indeed for sale at the increased price, the masses fall for it that's why retailers do it, good business sense if you ask me, immoral yes, but makes perfect business sense if it generates an increase in sales.

Have some heat anyways OP, it's about the price it is now not what is was or will be.

I don't know how Argos can ask £44.99 for this one! - was £59.99 recently.

Bought one of the wooden ones for £19.99. Sounds OK but like a previous post, vibrated until I bodged the battery compartment cover. Pity the one I bought hasn't got a headphone socket like the red one.

Bought this at £28 last week returned it as the on off is on the back and no stand by. Sound was ok but never a £60 set more like £20 priced higher to reduce. Bought a much better one from Sainsbury's for £25 which seems much more likely to have been made for the £70 original price.

Clearly no one's complaining that £19.99 is a lower price than £27.99 - we're having a moan at Argos's perpetually misleading and disingenuous RRPs. Remember when Tesco were caught out for selling strawberries at £4 for a few weeks, then keeping them at £2 afterwards and claiming they were "Half Price"? It's like that. People think they're getting an amazing deal, when the product is probably only worth £30 maximum anyway.

I find the wooden one has a good sound and is larger in dimensions, allowing the speakers to perform better. Wooden one does not have headphone socket, but I don't need that feature.
#28
Thanks Geordie7,
Will go for the wooden one

Just bought it, got home set it up, picks up lots of channels but..... The thing feels and looks cheap in person and the sound is awful too. Returned it straight away

Youve said it yourself that the product is only worth £30 but yet you can get it for £19.99! To me thats a saving! Like someone has said by law they have had to have sold for the £59.99 price as they can not state that and for a minimum period! This site is surely for deals and not moaning about previous RRPs. In regards to tesco did they sell for £4 a punnet? Did people buy them? Yes! Is £2 1/2 of £4? Yes? So whats your point? Tesco sold for a higher price and reduced them! It is that simple!

:) It's no big loss to the HUKD community. I had some trolling directed my way recently from a different new member who decided he would send me an insulting PM just because he disagreed with my opinion. Needless to say, he was on here for a month, never posted any deals and then got banned!

I think there should be a rule for new members; post a deal before you can make comments about other deals.

No, it's really not that simple. It's deliberately misleading. That's what I, and others, are "moaning" about.
