I know it's pot luck in Cash Generators but I went in to my local one (Accrington) to look for a DVD and ended up finding Red Dead Redemption for £19.99. It has everything with it (Manual & Map) and is extremely good condition. I know it's pre owned but for that price I wasn't willing to let it go considering game and gamestation was selling it for £35 pre owned.

They also had other games in for this price some was bargains others weren't. Either way it's worth a look if you have a local one.

xbox or ps3?
#2
my bad, jus saw the title..
#3
I was just in there hoping to find either that or Split/Second on the 360 - no such luck though.
#4
Yeah it is kind of pot luck. But they did have other titles at this price. One I can remember that was a decent deal was God of War 3. But it is worth having a look in your local to see what games they have because you may find a better deal.
#5
Asda are doing £21 trade in for this too
#6
Not a great game though...
#7
Thats the highest price cash generator ever sell 'new' releases at. I managed to get God of War 3 and even Uncharted 2 for £20 from them. They must be clueless selling games that cheap, even for a second hand shop

still, no chance of finding it at this price lol

Very hot, if you can find a copy. How little must some poor sod have got when trading in for them to be selling so cheaply?

I think they also buy games at ridiculous prices, think the person who sold it to them got ripped off big time

I've been playing it for a day and I must say it is a good game. If you remember 'Gun' for the PS2 it's like that but better. Imagine Grand Theft Auto in the western age.
#14
If you are not sure borrow it from a friend first to try it out (or rent it). That's what I did and I literally played if for 2 days straight. Nearly broke my heart when I had to return it - lol. Will definitely be buying - shame there is no cash generators near me :(
#15
gosh i paid £9 for mine in my local dvd/game shop,i got a right bargain then :)
#16
If I rang my local Cash Gen (assuming they have a phone :p) do you think they'd tell me if they have this in stock? I've been after this for ages but with times tight, not been able to afford the static £40 price floating about.
#17
Give it a month and it'll start the inevitable climb down in price. The games industry is in a bit of bother - mainly to do with it being summer and people not being so quick to part with their cash, hence all the fab deals on steam at the mo - not knocking the game at all (looking forward to buying it myself), just find another great game to bide your time with. My recommendations would be Mass Effect 2 or Bioshock 2 - both exemplary, and both daft cheap right now.

I have a load of games I've hardly played but I really wanted to play the RDR online with friends, I'm guessing that by the time the price starts dropping the online community will be greatly degraded.

Pretentious much?

Having recently finished this game I can honestly say I found it to be dissapointingly average. Fantastic graphics and great atmosphere - but overlaying a dull story featuring a frustrating control system pulled straight from a 2 year old game. Not to mention the fact that just about everything you can do outside of the main storyline are pure time sinks that are completely pointless. Its not the worst game i've ever played but really its been hyped out of all proportion because its Rockstar.

come on guys, you dont really expect to find it at this price. it is so obviously a one off store mis-price
#21
Nah, they do sell lots of game at really good prices. It is store specific though, whilst one store may have a great collections others may have an awful one. Mine stocked nothing but 8 copies of PES 2008 for a whole year.
#22
It is possible to find good games at decent prices in cash generator. I got Uncharted 2 the other day for a tenner and a few weeks ago Fifa 10 for a ten spot too but as already stated its quite a rare occurence and most times i go in it is nothing but pure tat.

I don't know what it's like on HUKD but second hand prices on the AV Forums are around £25 - £28 for RDR. I know that's more than the price in this thread but it does look as though this might have been a one-off. You can get it from Tesco online for under £32 with the 15% off code and Argos sell it for £34.99 new so your £40 can be beaten :)

I enjoyed the game for about two weeks but it does get a bit repetetive after a while so I sold mine while the resale price was reasonably high - but I will probably get it again in the future when it's around £10 - £15 to finish it off.

Thank you, I just saw they have 5 left in stock at my local Argos so I will pop in tomorrow. Should I bother reserving or just go in?

Amazing game. Much more mature than the GTA series.

Chances are that they'll still have a copy it but it's no hassle to reserve just to make sure.
#27
heat added, wait 3 more weeks and the price will drop
#28
That's a good bargain my local Cash Generator in Stockton have a lot of rubbish games mostly out of date sports games but they are selling all games with 20% off the price. But I did pick up Modern Warfare 2 for £19.99 about a month ago.
#29
Great price but will be difficult to find the best my cash convertor did was assassins creed 2 for £19.99 a month after release
#30
IT is a good game going to wait for it to go down in price.
#31
but buying pre-owned means you dont get any of the free DLC do you?

If the DLC came with the game then probably no. Unless the person didn't use the DLC code. But if it's DLC on PSN/XBL, then you can still get it
#34
The DLC was not available on release, therefore there was no DLC code given in the box. The first DLC was free to all anyway :)
#35
I'd give the game 8/10 gonna be selling my copy this week as i finished it this evening
