I think all PSN users are well aware of this news. Back to the deal though, shame the PS3 version is a poor port in comparison to the 360 version, good price though.

I am an Xbox user and a PS3 user, and don't really see any war as being necessary regarding this deal. It is a good price for the PS3 version, however the PS3 version is a poor port in comparison, the gameplay is still there though.

Can you explain what you mean by a poor port? I've been playing this on ps3 since psn went down and haven't found any bugs or had any issues. I'm not saying it isn't a poor port just curious as to why you consider it such.

Yep..lots of subordinates getting some sunshine and attempting to talk to real people, definitely doesn't bear thinking about!

The xbox360 version is but a pound more (and is in stock) at gameplay.

Sadly the PS3 does suffer from lazy porting in a couple of games - not trolling as I have both machines. cicobuff's link also ends with the point that unless you are running them side by side you're not going to notice the difference as that great old thing -gameplay- is still the real reason why you'd play this game.

Hot for the price from me!

I think you would notice the difference to be honest, I have played GTA IV on the 360 and on the PS3, and you certainly notice a difference in graphics, there is a blur haze on the PS3 version, this also seems apparent on the PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption.

As you say, as with GTA IV I am sure the gameplay is the same, but I note from my experiences with GTA IV the graphical haze does play havoc with brightness/contrast tv ratios and is hampering my experience slightly (playing GTA IV Complete Edition)

I stopped playing GTA IV on the PS3 long ago because a. the gameplay is rubbish and b. no matter what you do the screen is too dark. I used to have to stand up, walk over to the tv and peer at the screen from about a foot away every time I got a text message.

Ok I dont know if what im thinking is right in anyway, but I always thought the reason why Xbox's version of the same game that is also on PS3 is always slightly better because they make it to fit on the xbox dvd first then just simply transfer it over to the PS3 and maybe lose some detail etc in the transfer?

because if you take a look at games that are only on the PS3, such as Uncharted or MGS, the graphics are amazing and have not really been matched so its hard to believe PS3 games are not as good graphically as xbox but it is the truth as Ive seen on some comparisons.

if you have the cash and the inclination then I'd get both machines as despite the PS3 having the better hardware (supposedly at least) this issue does keep coming up. I tried out Enslaved, Vanquish, Red Dead and Bayonetta (the last one having serious issues on the PS3) and all looked better on the xbox. I'm hoping this will change though as the PS3 has a very slight lead on units sold so software devs should get their acts together and sort it out.

Once again, feel the need to say how much I like the PS3 too (recent online issues omitting) - just finished uncharted 2 and it just shows what can be done with a proper team wanting to create graphically brilliant games (that play properly!)

I am glad it is not just me, and this is why in general I prefer buying multiformat games on the 360. However I am wondering currently about LA Noire, it is rumoured the screenshots and video demos used are from the PS3 version...and hopefully this time round Rockstar have it right.

I too enjoy my PS3 (in fact recently I have been playing far more on my PS3 than my 360), and first party titles shine on it (GT5, LBP, MGS4, Uncharted, Resistance, GOW) I wouldn't want to be without it, but for the reasons you mention I am wary of multiformat titles on the PS3.

This game looks good and I am seriously thinking about ditching the PS3 for an X-Box so will wait to see which one to get.

No stock :-(

no stock, this should be expired

NFS Shift 2 looks a lot better on the PS3 because EA seem to support it more than the Xbox. I just wait for the reviews to tell me the differences and go for it. So far on most multi-format games, they tend to look better on the Xbox 360. But play something like Uncharted 2 or God of War 3 and the PS3's power is clearly evident.

As of posting Gameplay have this back in stock.

I have taken the liberty of reporting this thread to have this unexpired.

I hope fellow members manage to secure a copy this time.

Happy gaming,
