This is a great price for an awsome game with hours and hours of gameplay. Plus you can get downloadable contenet to expand the game further, which adds to the overall gaming experience.

Does anyone know if RDR was GOTY?

If not I will get this instead of waiting for a GOTY edition with DLC included free...

I'm sure it was someone important's GOTY, it was mine :D But you might be waiting awhile for an edition like that, GTA IV's 'complete edition' only came out at the end of last year didn't it? So can assume a lengthy wait.

Believe me when I say that if you wait, you'll just regret not buying it sooner when you do finally get it. In fact, stop wasting your time reading this and buy it now 8)

I'm loving this game at the moment! I've already put 20+ hours into it :) It's definitely worth trying at this price if you're on the fence. HOT!

I'm on the fence after playing it for a while. Loved GTA series.
It might just be me, but it's often very unclear what you're supposed to be doing and the control is awful when you need it most (galloping across the plains and unexpectedly hearing some kind of altercation 'somewhere' in your vicinity). By the time you've located where it's coming from, turned your horse back and tried to work out what's going on everyone's dead half the time! The rules of poker? Some out of sight wild animal just leaping on you and killing you while you're wandering about the landscape...

Love the openness of the game and suspect I've just scratched the surface of quests etc. though and want to see more, so...

If you're just free roaming you'll get random events from by-passers which you can just ignore. Your map will show a little blue dot to identify them and you'll hear the screams or someone calling for help. You'll get a bonus for helping but there's no punishment for ignoring them.

When you're doing missions by going to the big letters on your map you will progress the story and everything is clear once you're in a mission. I have to agree controlling the horse is frustrating at first but it all becomes simple after playing it for a while.

And yeah, the wild animals leaping on you and killing you will only happen in certain parts of the map and it's probably best to stay on your horse in those areas (it's usually only cougars which do that) but all the rest should be able to be killed simply. Also the map should highlight the main type of animal in that certain area, but you'll get used to where the main dangers are after time and be on alert for them. Don't forget to use your medicine while you're on the floor defenceless after being attacked and using dead eye when you can!

It's a very entertaining game that's certainly worth a pop at this price, as if it clicks with you can give you 30+ hours of entertainment easily. Not to mention all the online elements. I've spent countless hours just helping strangers, doing side challenges, hunting wanted posters and ignored the story for a bit. It's such an engrossing world!

I absolutely loved GTA IV, and everyone I know has raved about this, so at this price I couldn't resist any more.

Ordered and heat added, cheers.

I just completed this today and I don't think I've ever had such a reaction to a game as this. Its much deeper than GTA IV in its message and is definitley one of the greatest open-world games ever.
