Yet to find any of these so called Curry's deals in any store near me - normally very store specific.

Excellent game and graphics. A bit too long drawn out for my liking though. Good if you want a game that can be played for quite some time.

tried for a couple hours; not bad but need to get into story :)
#7
yes great game, also well supported via DLC especially undead nightmare
#8
good price

From my experience hunting down Alan Wake in local Currys stores in recent weeks, these deals are rarely nationwide, if there is any stock at all. Great price, I would pick it up in an instant, but doubt I'll find it.

HOT if you can find one

They are, but they only change the price tags once a year.

Or it could be possible the price changed between 1 person finding the deal and another looking for the deal.

I so want this but no stock anywhere :(

True - try getting ANY game for less than £25 in the Bluewater store

My local Currys still has a few copies of FIFA '08 for sale for £39.99!

The last time I was in there I pointed it out to a salesperson and asked him if he thought it was a bit excessive because FIFA '11 was out now. He sniffily tried to claim it wasn't excessive as they'd sold three copies that week at that price. What a load of pish!

same here - I can only find Red Dead Redemption listed as a PS3 title on their website - no mention of the 360 version.
#21
The reason why only the PS3 version is listed on their website is because they've deleted the 360 one to clear, that's why it's £9.97 in the shops.

ah but MW2 is on their site at 19.97 and poster said its 9.97 in store !
I assume thats to clear too.

Damn, can't really get to a Curry's near me; hot anyway.
#24
If you are lucky enough to find this game at this price, absolute bargain.

For a sandbox style game, the graphics are brilliant, and there is lots of things that will keep you entertained besides the storyline, e.g.the hogties and the drinking are pure comedy.

Heat Added!

If anyone goes and they have a extra copy. Please could someone get me one?

I would pay postage obviously.

Please PM and we could do it legit through the trade/sale section.

Thanks in advance.

Correct me if i'm wrong but usually if they end the price with 97p example £9.97, it usually means that it is hard to find stock of it anywhere ??

I'm sure I was trying to find a game a 6 months ago with this price in currys and never found any stock any where near me.
#27
How did this possibly got hot?
I've not seen any proof so far, especially not for a nationwide deal.

Because HUKD is split between skeptics and trustworthy people. The trustworthy people vote regardless of whether it's proven or not. They vote purely on the price of the product compared to elsewhere.

For anyone wanting to know if their local has stock, use this site: http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php

It'll give you a local number to call instead of an 0870 number. Currys can tell you over the phone if they have any left. Also try your local PC World. Not sure if they accept reservations over the phone though.

If this deal is true, it is hot. But with no proof, I'm not voting.

From my time I was working for Dixons (now thankfully out of that rat race) any price with .98p means its going clearance so an easy indication to the salesman to sell it over the other models. .97p means it is clearance and is likely the last one. Sell it NOW! Also beware with DSG they are terrible for changing the tickets or sticker prices so end up with the wrong prices. If something is £39.99 and its an old game the chances are it hasnt been changed and scans at say £19.97. If the salesman sees this it is rare they will tell you and will override the price on the till to the sticker price for extra money. Unfair but happened a lot. ( I wansnt one of them)

Yeh I'm pretty sure I could say I saw game x and price y.97 knowing .97 means clearance without any real proof and it'd still get heat
#32
Hot if true. I'll got to my local later and report back.
#33
HA ha - one of those rocking horse poo deals from Currys - stone cold for me
#34
Checked this morning, tagged at 24.97 in my local currys. Asked to scan but still 24.97
#35
Cold. 1 person has got it at this price so far, probably a mistake, so why is this hot?
#36
No proof of this so should be nowhere near this amount of heat. Again, people just voting without examinging the actual deal.

Yeah- always good to get them to double check. I remember doing the same thing in a Game store- the shop assistant then looked at me with the most puzzled face and asked "how did you know?". I honestly wondered if he thought I was some kind of psychic :p

And yeah- I dislike the type of sale assistant who will short change a nice, polite paying customer to satisfy an employer/corporation who doesn't truly value them.
