Hell, I thought season 6 was bad until 7 and 8 got made - they were just on another plane of existance. I shall call it 'the sucky dimension'.

These days I do consider 6 to be part of the original 'good lot', even though there's strong evidence of shark jumping throughout.

True to form the Dave specials were diabolical.

First series was the best. They should have stopped at series two or three.... :-D

The BBC Shop has the complete box-set for £35 (+ £2.45 delivery). It's the 20th Anniversary edition... so it's really nice. A better deal if you're thinking of buying them all.

If you only need a couple of series though, then this deal is obviously the best around!!

These were funny when I was about ten, but they seem a bit naff now I've allegedly matured.

Still a good price, though.

The box set has no extras though and the case is about A4 size and so doesn't fit in normal DVD shelving easily

What happened to the film they where going to make. This was about 15 years ago. I guess they just decided to spend 15 years on the plot for those dave episodes, good job they made :whistling: :-D

I thought every series was great, apart from series 7 - whatever you do, just don't buy series 7!

I must admit the "breaking the fourth wall" motif made my toes curl.

Are these the ones with the awful awful awful new CGI that replaces the brilliant model work? Also they used a film filter for it all which made it look *****.

The episode commentaries by the cast you get in the 2 disc versions are brilliant. Well worth a few extra quid!

No, it's the original broadcast versions. If you like the model work there are features on the extras discs.

Although I echo the sentiments everyone has written about series 7 and 8 being an atrosity I thought the Dave specials were reasonably entertaining and better than expected.

can not go far wrong at this price, great series
#19
Ahh, typical, I bought the same set 2nd hand off ebay a few days ago for £40 :(.

What annoys me is the fact I can't find "Just the shows vol 2" (Got vol 1) for a good price. Cheaper for me to buy 5/6/7/8 from play!

The writers were approached by 'Hollywood' producers. They all sat down, a large cheque was put on the table. 'Hollywood' said 'it's yours. Now, let's talk about who will play the lead roles.'
The cheque stayed and the writers left.
