Couldn't get the price to go down to £17.35 or get the 10% voucher to work (couldn't find the voucher box) but I'm very happy with it for £17.99.

"Remastered!"
In 1997, lol.

I was never a fan of the remastered episodes, they tried to hard and added some CGI and swoosh sounds which it didn't need a kind of ruined it for me, the original versions are by far the best (which can be said for most things)

I've voted HOT by the way for the price and three cracking seriessssss! The best IMO....

Totally agree. The somewhat rubbishy special effects was what gave the originals their charm. Imagine if that vindaloo monster was all CGI-ed...just wouldn't be the same.

Komakino...currently on manoeuvres with the Bolivian navy somewhere in the South Pacific.

The original versions are indeed better....lame effects = awesomeness....watching the characters keep a straight face while talking to a lame home made looking alien just wouldn't be the same if they changed it.

Though of course the creators said if they had a bigger budget at the time they'd have done their best to make it more realistic....thank god they didn't because the last couple of series (the last especially) was mostly awful with their bigger budgets and more readily available CGI tools. >_<

Yep I agree. I was a little gutted when I heard the film had been canceled but at the same time I was kind of glad because I am not sure they would have pulled it off...

Saying that the latter series still have plenty of classic Red Dwarf moments which in my opinion still make them completely watchable.

Another vote against the remastered versions. The originals are what made the show so popular in the first place.

The remasters were made for the american market when later series became popular there. It was thought that the low budget series 1-3 wouldn't be accepted by US audiences who are used to high production values. A lot of Holly's dialogue was re-shot to change jokes that only brits would understand. This was only ever intended to be a release for uber-geeky fans, not for normal people who are better off with the originals.

Indeed, to fit in extra woosh they've actually cut dialog, George Macintyre's speech in the pilot being a very obvious example.

I love Red Dwarf but I do agree that once the series went from live action to a recorded version, it kinda lost the feeling of cheesiness, which made it what it was.

Did anyone see the original American Pilot of Red Dwarf? It was god-damn awful ! Only Robert Llewellyn appeared in it and I'm glad to say it didn't go any further! Anyone want a copy of it, let me know! but it is pants though, you have been warned.

I love anything Dwarfy so voted hot from me!

Stoke me a clipper.................

Not as glad as Jane Leeves and her bank manager are!

Yup....I was interested to see if they could pull the film off but it was doubtful....they'd no doubt try to cater to the American audience over the brits even though it's a British show....If we can put up with American jokes from their many ported shows then surly they can do the same with ours. >_>
