sorted byIts definitely better than a broken phone.
If you don't want the risk don't buy a Chinese phone. It is what it is and for that price you can't expect the kind of aftercare you'd get from Amazon or John Lewis.
You want the moto g4 that tesco direct are doing for £125. No stress there.
I am getting so confused with all the different Xiaomi phones!
So many different models, and then different versions of different models.
Xiaomi is one of the largest phone makers in the world. I own one of their devices and its a great piece of kit. Their quality control is really good. They are also one of few Chinese companies updating their phone's OS for a reasonable amount of time. 99% of the time you'll be fine. However, if something goes wrong, you'll waste a lot of nerves/ /energy/time/ trying to get in touch with their customer sevices, sending the phone back. That's the risk associated with buying from a chinese website.
These Chinese stores put their own garbage rom on them which do not work properly and are stuffed with adverts.
When you clearly have no experience of the camera on this, why are you trying to give advice?
It's the same as all mid range cameras. Decent enough in good light, not great in low.
It will be sufficient for most, but if you want a really good camera you typically have to buy high end phones or a proper camera.
If you order through the AliExpress app, it knocks off an extra 1% or so. Not a huge amount, but it all helps. :-)
Yes, as this is meant to be the special edition version of Note 3 Pro, that covers all UK 4G networks.
DHL will almost always end up with customs charges on phones, better going for standard post if you can wait
This is an official global rom so it won't be locked like other sellers, it will update fine
I believe the UK warranty offered is around £8-9 for the year, well worth getting as returning to china is a massive pain
The previous version covered 4G for Three and one or two others, this one has all bands unlocked for all 4G providers
It is a VERY good phone, the only issue I've come across is the power button having issues if used a lot, I'd suggest when you get it setting it so the volume buttons wake it also (loads of info on how to do this online)
Play Store is installed
I believe it is NOT NFC capable
I've used a number of Xiaomi products including currently having the original Redmi Note 3 Pro and I believe it is a fantastic phone for the money, I had the MI3 when it had flagship killer status and I was gutted when I dropped it and smashed the screen as it was an awesome phone. I'm waiting on a replacement screen coming to sort it out for my girlfriend to use instead of her 5S.
If anyone has any questions, let me know.
Miui 8 Global Stable is official now. Updates OTA.
really looking forward to the scenario where when i need an app i can actually download it now, rather than it not even being available on windows phone! will miss the always on screen terribly though
I have searched, but can't find any. I will need to "manipulate" the standard one.
Are you talking about the second screen when you are setting it up? I set that to the Falkland Islands as there was no UK option (doesn't matter- I asked that question when the phone first arrived). The time and date set up is really where it matters.
You've linked to a page for a model of that phone that was brought out specifically for the Taiwan market. If you've got that Band 20 Taiwan version, you'll just have to wait.
Miui 8 is available for all the other versions of the phone ie Snapdragon 650, MTK etc.
I got Miui 8 through an OTA update. It was actually released on 23 August.

elaborate,
Im pretty sure it would still respond to touch
unfortunately very few if any of these chinese phones have working GPS, I've tried one myself didn't pick up a single satellite. Hoping it might work on this redmi as it has a snapdragon chip instead of mediatec one,.
you cannot anymore, apparently you used to be able to through the app, but its now unavoidable.
The location is only used to set the time zone. Doesn't really what you pick as your network will override it anyway as soon as you put in a SIM and sync the clock to your network.

No it doesn't as I found out by checking forums; I was feeling patriotic.
Down load the nexus launcher or novo launcher both should do what your looking for
love the phone and all works fine, until yesterday, has anyone appearance photo's disappeared?
i took some pictures on Sunday, checked them on phone and they were on the phone, yesterday when i went to show someone the pics i took, they were not there , just a blank box where picture should of been, the rest of my pictures are still on the phone. 'all pictures are saved to memory card'.
i dont know much about gps but i just installed AndroiTS GPS and ran it sitting in my living room it took 24sec to lock on to 3 out of 5 satellites and 6 out off 9 after 1min it also had my correct home address dont know if this helps you in anyway
Spyware stealing your identity. You'll be getting Chinese parking tickets in the post soon.
Its because they are using MTK cpu which are always flaky.
This xiaomi uses snapdragon which are much better.
Definitely if you use alot of different apps. Android is more efficient the more spare memory it has. The 3gb/32gb is only about £25 more.
