Reflex Tour Road Bike £125.00 @ Asda

People were swarming around these today. Managed to get a good look and it's very cheap!

The wheels have a zillion spokes, it weighs a lot, it has some kind if weird bar shifters, but it's a road bike for not much money.

Not sure what Decathlon are doing for the price as they tend to be quite good for budget bikes. Doubt they have one this cheap.

Can't find anything online about the bike and spec.

Likely the shifters are Shimano AO50. They are the closest you can get to old downbar shifters. Bike will be very heavy steel.

It's this cheap for a reason.

Why pay a fortune for a bike that is only occasional use or to sit in a bike rack at work getting rusty over time or even nicked in time. Heat for the find

It's alloy frame I seen it in Asda last week.

They used to sell these at Tesco for about £150.

Just checked the spec on the Tesco website:

FRONT BRAKE:- YES
REAR BRAKE:- YES

Says it all.

If you only have this much to spend on a bike, buy second hand, don't buy this garbage.

Gotta love the 1k roadbike buying fanboys that are dissing this.

Great find OP. A road bike at 150 or a road bike at 1k because it weighs a little more.

I know which ones a deal.

You don't just pay for weight, you pay for quality. The components on a good road bike will last longer. The shifters will shift quicker and more reliably. And odds are you will get a much better warranty too.

Some good points, like it or not. Just look at impulse buys all over the second hand market and after Le Tour dies down there will be even more...that's when I'll move in :-)

I have one of these bikes. It is a lightweight alluminium frame. 14 speed Shimano gears. Mine is yellow and black, with matching saddle. I bought mine from Asda. The weird gear shift, is easy to use.

Well I went by the Reflex Hybrid which was ASDA described as steel.

Frame size? ??

Frame size 21", 700c wheels whatever it means.

I was looking at these and hoping that one of those guys who chooses to spend £1,000 on a bike instead of £150-£200 can answer: given that (most of) the point of cycling is exercise, why spend 5 - 8 times the price so that your bike is lighter and your exercise more ineffective? I was looking for a bike to cycle to the gym, so my reasoning is that the heavier the better, surely (within reason)?

Or looking at this another way, rather than pay £800 to reduce the weight by 4 kilos, why not simply lose 4 kilos of bodyweight?!!

hi...this was in my local Reading...reduced to 69£...I have bought the mountain bike type reflex26 for the same price. if it lasts two summers around the park then im sorted. there were some piranha bmxs reduced to 50£.

I also have one that is black and yellow and I think the bike is awesome and great value for money. The gear shifters are easy to use and accurate when changing. I have riding for over 30 years. My first road bike was the Raleigh Sun Solo and that was heavy compared to this one. I also don't believe in spending a small fortune on a bike unless you ride professionally, buying it just for occasional use where it's stuck in the shed is a waste.

Great - bikes are meant for riding!

Your definition of a 'small fortune' may differ to other people though. I have a few grand's worth of bikes but wouldn't spend more than £5k on a car. I have friends who are happy to drop £1k on a watch as well. If it makes you happy, spend your money on what you like.
