Front button arrangement looks very similar to the Digihome ones by Vestel.

Don't know what version it will be though from T810, T816, T825.

Doesn't mention dual record so could be T810

"This can replace a VCR or DVD recorder as it can record one digital channel whilst you watch another, or record two channels at once".

Got a refurb thompson off topup tv on ebay for £40 delivered. Twin tuner 160Gb. Thought that was good value. 3 month warranty only though.

Voted hot. I don't want one but it's damn cheap if it does what it says on the box.

You can update the firmware to allow dual recording and playback at the same time and a few other updates here: http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/vestel/update.htm

Not anymore since BBC transmit differently now. We have 2 digihome boxes which are the same thing and both still going strong, where as the Humax my bro has is suffering from slow remote responce due to a shoddy update from Humax recently.

Not a bad price but paid the same over a year ago for the same sort of deal.

shame about the update, but good to know yours are still going strong. rep for the update info too;-)

If this is infact a vestel T8xx based unit, it will probably be pretty good. Bought a referb Digihome DTR-80 for the same price (plus postage) from eBuyer. It's a pretty good PVR for the price.
Good deal I say

A great deal - ordered for the folks. Actuall, I reckon a brilliant deal as its a digihome clone - and I've had great experience with these.

also - use Maplin code 'delivery' to bring it down further ... plus quidco/topcashback.

Cheers, mum's has just broken and didn't want to pay top dollar to replace it with the HD units coming out next year - brilliant price:thumbsup:
#20
I'm not saying that it is definitely a Vestel T8xx, but the button arrangement is exactly the same as the Digihome I'm looking at now.

Had my dual record T810 running faultlessly for nearly 2 years now. Does that mean I'll loose it (or Beeb1 & 2) when switchover reaches my area?

Sorry my mistake - I read down the page and then came to the bit about checking stock and all the stores near anyone I knew were coming up as ZERO stocks, but as now realise it's central stock (with free delivery this weekend). :-D

If this is the same as the Digihome PVR80 then it's a really good PVR. I bought one for my parents a year ago and they use it all the time without the usual problems the elder generation have with technology!!

I also updated the S/W which allows dual recording and flipped the HDD, you may find the picture jumps occasionally but this seem to be normal on these units, probably why these are refurbs and selling cheap.

It's a real bargain and recommended.

nice1, ordered one
#35
Does anyone know what brand these are, to check some reviews?
#36
In stock local to me too! I'll check this out at this price.
#37
There was still 5 left in Preston this morning, one on display. Note, this will only work with an aerial, not a sky box etc, you need to spend a bit more cash to get one that does that

They are likely to be vestel firmware based. Basically the same as Digihome DTR-80 or PVR-80. Hard to know without cracking the case open but could be T815 or T825 (googling should bring up some of the different brand/model numbers based on these chipsets)

Hot. Just ordered one for the folks for Xmas :)

Can you pause / rewind live TV with this model please?
