Acer Aspire X1301 Quad Core Deskop PC

Grade A1 - "As New" Condition

AMD Athlon II X4 620 Quad Core Processor 2.60GHz
4GB RAM (Installed) DDR2
640GB Hard Drive
DVD+/-RW Supermulti
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
20 Inch LCD TFT Monitor (P205H) 1600x900, 5ms response time.
On-board nVidia GeForce 9200 (256MB dedicated memory)
Gigabit Ethernet
9 USB, Heaphone, Microphone, Mini Firewire, HDMI, DVI
3 Month Warranty

This is similar to the acerdirect/laptopsdirect deals we've had on here recently.

However there are several important differences that I think justify the slightly higher price.

**Better CPU - the Athlon II X4 620 is far superior to the Phenom 9650, and is roughly on a par with an Intel Q6600.
**Better monitor - The 1366x768 monitor found in the other clearance machines isn't particularly practical for a desktop monitor. This 1600x900 monitor should be much more useful.
**Windows 7 rather than Vista
**More RAM - 4GB is all this spec. of machine will ever need.
**Bigger HDD

Definitely worth the extra £80 for a much more balanced and useful machine.

The only problem I can see with it (which the other clearance Acers also suffer from) is that it's a slim-line case.
This limits graphics card upgrade potencial some-what, unless the case (and probably PSU) are replaced.

The price above includes delivery of £9.95, it can be knocked off if you are in a position to collect.

Also, don't forget Quidco cashback of 2% (~£7)

:edit:

FYI, I totted up the cost of the components and they're worth ~£440.

Many thing remain unknown for me and refurbs partic if the 1st user has used the OS registration details. Do they come with an installation disc for OS and drivers or are they base unit alone and your on your own!

annnd another thing (I've been looking at these sorts of deals tonight) they don't give out much info wrt how much memory you can fit (considerin this is a 64 bit an 2Gb is rec min for that) and don't give any chance of upgrading as part of a purchase.

Yeah, i've come to the conclusion that the people who vote on PC deals have no idea what they're voting on.
If they see Refurb they vote Cold.
If they see 'HD' they vote Hot.
Beyond that it's entirely down to what sort of a mood they're in.

Wouldn't it be great if people had to leave a comment in order to vote a deal cold...

Are you quoting the price for New components?

hot deal, no doubt about it

please help us understand where you got £440 for total value of parts. Bear in mind Graphics Card is integrated, it is a pile of pooh motherboard, old Nvidia chipset, worthnothing is selling without CPU.

CPU only worth about £70 brand new, say £40 secondhand. Probably most expensive component on this is monitor and HDD or even 3 month warranty. But then HDD is not worth much as 1TB F3 are now just under £43

And in no way is this chip on par with a Q6600 maybe a Q8200 on performance thats about it.

You could build an i3 530 rig running at 4GHZ or X4 635 for less

220W PSU wouldnt even run my electric toothbrush never mind low profile 3d card.

My vote is Cold as you can guess and defo not worth the extra £80

This is in the other hand is a Hot deal and would of been a scorcher had it been made public - found in Expansys B Stock Lists. Misplaced and mispriced they upheld the sale
