Get it while you can - another great refurb deal from Dixons. Excellent price when compared to Apple direct (£1684):

Intel® Core™ i5-760 Processor
- 2.8 GHz (up to 3.3 GHz with Turbo Boost)
- 2.5 GT/s DMI
- 8 MB L3 Cache
- Quad Core

If you don't like Apple products - please don't just comment for the sake of commenting. This is a genuinely good price when compared with other retailers and if you want this unit - you'll be glad of the discount.

Don't forget Quidco etc for cashback incentives.

Good price if it were new, but seeing as how it's refurbished I wouldn't go with it. It might have been brought back due to hardware failure. I bought a refurbished laptop once and even though it looked brand new, I never want to go through the problems I had with it ever again even if I managed to fix all of the problems eventually after a lot of time and an insane amount of money.

I'm afraid I dont accept that as a valid reason to make this cold. Just because you've had a bad experience doesn't mean everyone will. You can buy a new car and it doesn't mean it will be any more reliable than one that was an ex-demo.

Some refurb units are nothing other than cancelled orders - so receiving a unit thats potentially had nothing than its box opened for £400 in my eyes is a good deal.

This unit includes a 1 year warranty so there are no associated costs if it does go wrong within the first year (which is when the majority of hardware related problems occur). This is same cover that you get with a brand new unit.

Hot from me.

It's still a very high price for the OS compared to the cost of the components. An i5 for this price is ridiculous, as well as Apples reluctance to embrace Bluray.

For a start, a 27" LED Backlit H-IPS screen will cost well over half the asking price, which doesn't leave much for the rest of the components and the OS.

Hot from me.... not that it makes much difference!

Hot from me but i'm sure the usual Apple hate club will dismiss this.

Talicus did not say whether he voted.

I am a great fan of Apple iMacs and have owned all models from the G3 onwards. If this is refurbished by Apple I would class it as very hot. However it is probably refurbished by Dixons and if so would give it a wide berth. No vote cast.

I didn't say Talicus had voted cold - I was merely pointing out that others shouldn't vote cold based on one persons experience.

There is more assumption in saying Dixons "probably" refurbished the unit. I've purchased refurb units in the past and with a valid receipt - Apple direct have never refused to work on a warranty repair!

Thanks to the OP for the post, sadly it's been mis-voted by the largely uniformed.

Hot from me.

Great price for a great machine. I bought the 21.5' mac last may and I love it, I only wish I had bought the 27.5" model. In 2 years when my warranty is up I will do all I can to buy the biggest screen and spec mac that I can !
