Why are so many of these iPads for sale as pre-owned etc. and refurbed? Do they have that many issues with them that so many are returned?
#4
Some are broken/damaged boxes, some are returns, some genuinely broken and fixed!

They sell a lot so a small % of the above looks like they are not reliable but that is not the case.

It'll be because of Apple's very generous returns policy. Not sure if you want the air or mini, buy them both and send one back after trying them out for a few weeks.

It's not a £100 saving in a new one, you can get one for between £300-£350 new from a lot of places.

Buy the 32GB if your going to buy one. I've got the 16GB you will soon fill it up. Some apps are over 2GB.

Looks to be a US model, but just get a travel adapter off ebay to sort the plug :)

Although judging by some of the feedback you might not actually get a "new" one...

Well my son is really happy with his refurb from Tesco, it is as new. Other comments and feedback agree with this and it is from a reputable source. If you want to spend £16 more feel free. Also it is £100 off RRP:)

Very happy with a purchase from Tesco.

those probably were bought by **** to fulfill the ipads air they are offering for £338 (16Gb)... ordered mine for girlfriend's birthday pressie... I bet it will be delivered way after that day (if it ever arrives! after reading reviews for that supplier a bit too late)

Where can you get a new one for £16 more?

No not a Tesco agent, just like to point out proper hot deals! Unlike some others...

Decent price for an item, no android vs apple drool, if you want an iPad with £100 off RRP then this is a really good deal, very simple, very basic. Not magic or anything dodgy! Simples, and we actually purchased one so go and annoy someone one else :) happy customer and only post decent deals, check out my previous before moaning like a child.....

Apple official refurbished items come with new outers and a new battery. So these Tesco ones must be customer returns. No way are they Apple refurbs.
Just checked Apple website and looks like they don't now do this. So you could get one scratched, etc. Would rather pay a few quid more for one untouched by the 'Unclean'

"They are in 100 per cent working condition, and are then sold as refurbished product. As these refurbished products have been unpacked and manipulated, they might however exhibit some minor cosmetic imperfection, such as scratches, marks or discolorations".

Aye. Apple fanbois would insist that forking out 300 quid for a second hand tablet is a bargain.
#30
Mine was in perfect condition just a few scuffs on the box which was the original as well. Their returns policy is good too so if your not happy with the condition just send it back. It's a significant saving and it's still got a years warranty so not like you have anything to lose buying it refurb.

Great unexpired, thanks. They seem excellent and ours was as new so hopefully you get just as good as we did. Seems if not returns is good to but i doubt you will need to use it.

It'll be because of Apple's very generous returns policy. Not sure if you want the air or mini, buy them both and send one back after trying them out for a few weeks.
I suspect that unless the user finds a few apps they like, the device suffers from lack of use though all the imposed limitations, thus returns are prolific.

They have reduced the return policy to something quite basic, no doubt because of all the returns.
