Divisive, but the best price I've ever seen by quite some way - including eBay and Amazon grey market imports. Also 3% on TCB (on the ex-VAT price).

15.4-inch (diagonal) Retina display; 2880x1800 resolution at 220 pixels per inch

8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
256GB flash storage1
720p FaceTime HD camera
Intel Iris Pro Graphics

Note this is the special "CrystalWell" Haswell with 128MB L4/eDRAM on package that you cannot get anywhere else - unless you buy your CPU off the 'bay and install it yourself. Perhaps a dedicated GPU would have been better but the total power would be much higher.

Plus PCIe-based flash - that other makers are only moving to now with NGFF.

Personally whether you like Apple or not - they have pushed PC makers to improve, otherwise we'd still have plastic 15" 3kg laptops with HDDs, 1366x768 TN screens, etc.

There was me thinking that retina display was meant to have a pixel density of just over 300, as that's what apple said when they first came out with this marketing phrase. Got to love the way they move the goal posts to suit themselves

Think the 300 was for the distance using a phone. When you increase the distance, keeping 300 is kind of pointless.
