^Yeah, there were only about 8 in stock at that price so I'm not surprised they went quickly!

Anybody know the real world battery life on these?

Mine last for up to 8 or even 9 hours with light use, screen brightness fairly low etc.

Mystified. What does that mean?

Means littlewoods are banned and unicornriver was the name of the previous person who commented

Can these be click and collect from Argos store?
#15
Good price. A screen for one of these costs about the same price.

It means he is replying to a guy called UnicornRiver.

why were they banned?

Probably because they don't play nicely with HUKD's affiliate links process (and are thus depriving HUKD of click-through payments).
HUKD blocks various companies that are very good - so there really isn't much logic (Scan was a company that had been banned for ages...for reasons unknown). They also allow deals from companies that are an absolute joke - Very.co.uk for instance!
What you realise after being on here long enough is that this is a deals website where click-through profit comes first....NOT the actual benefit to us, the buying public.
It is still the best deals website out there - just a shame it is tarnished by unnecessary profiteering.

Very.co.uk is the same company as Littlewoods so I don't understand why they would block one and not the other.

Haha, I guess that probably makes Littlewoods an absolute joke as well !!

Is this online only or would they price match in-store?

Does anyone know if it's possible to install silverlight on a chromebook?

Trying to determine if I can use this for SkyGo/Eurosport player?

unfortunately I can't see any reason for them to as it's a "refurb" deal.

Great, was it in good condition? Seems strange that they would have so many in need of a refurb unless loads of people bought them thinking they were Windows laptops...

Thanks

Yeah, does seem really strange!

It was in really good condition, tiny mark on the lid but apart from that pretty much perfect

Thanks, have ordered. Was just nervous as never gone 'refurb' before. At this price seem better value than the less powerful HP 11 Chromebook (albeit not as pretty!)

Purchased; seems the best budget Chromebook, plus the benefit of being even cheaper as refurbished...

Sorry to hear that. Physically broken?

Mine was ok, though a few minor scratches and clearly had been taken apart at some point (seal at the back was broken). No original box or instructions either, but works perfectly fine. I'm just confused as to why they have so many of these. Ex display perhaps, or was there a batch of faulty machines?

Not physically, but a few keys wouldn't work and others made characters appear multiple times. Couldn't get past the wifi password screen.

Mine arrived today, looked in absolutely mint / factory fresh condition, plastic film around the screen still in place, the only hints at it having been opened was a sheet of paper when you opened it up saying who to contact in case of any problems with it, and the seal on the box :-)

Hmmm - I ordered one of these (thanks OP).

It looks great, and everything seemed hunky dory at fIrst - BUT (here it comes) - when I first open the screen, up pops a glitchy colour stripe - about 3" in width (from the top of the screen to bottom) across the black screen...just before Chrome kicks in.

Is this normal? It doesn't seem to affect the system - but it doesn't fill me with confidence.

Also a bit surprised to find that it wasn't completely 'power washed' before getting to me. It was still in some kind of 'developer' mode.

As you suspect, that stripe isn't normal. No problem in normal use though?

As far as I can tell - but £130+ for something that is already showing signs of trouble means that I'll be sending it back. I'd ask for a replacement but it looks as though they've sold out of these things.

Damn. They're back in stock. How do you unexpire a deal?
