This is an entry level desktop and comes with Windows 8 operating system.

I know most individuals opt to using a laptop but its always a good idea to have a second machine as desktop.

NOTE: No monitor included.

Well this is silly cheap. Windows will run you about £70. It will upgrade to 8.1 which is user friendly & far more frugal on resources than 7. It's not a powerhouse but you could chuck in a discreet graphics card & bash away at minecraft & the like.
Just keep in mind these AMD E1 processors are sloooooooowwwwwwwwww. And might actually have trouble with a game like Minecraft which is more CPU heavy than one might think.

Decent for office and internet use though.
Not the fastest thing ever, but can also be used as a MAME/Emulation machine and Media Center/Server.
Got one of these for admin at my work. Its mega slow and the motherboard means it only offers limited upgrade options. I paid £200 plus vat nearly 2 years ago new so seems a lot. Saying that, depending on what you want it for can't get much else for the price.
Ebuyer has a couple of 149 deals at the moment both are Intel Based, One is a Lenovo with a low power Intel Pentium J, the Other is a Low Power Haswell Celeron Based Zoostorm tower. Both are probably faster than this AMD System
