A little slower write speed than the MX100 but for that price who cares. :-)

Thinking to order but wondering if I should worry about 1 year warranty only?

Also what's the lifespan on these and what warranty do new ones come with?

3yr for brand new.

Does refurb mean customer returns as in don't want/wrong item purchased or faulty and they have a look can't fond any problems and sell on.

Ordered the 256 one.
If you try to checkout via PayPal they charge full price though, so make sure you check out the standard way.

It's 40% deducted off the shown price at checkout so the 512GB would be around £74 when in stock, shame none available I could do with one too!

I bought a refurbished c300 256GB back in 2010/11 for £180ish (it was cheap at the time) I use it as a steam drive, it's been used pretty much every day since and it's still in use today.

Was literally just going out to collect the SanDisk one from PC world saved me a trip out and a few quid thanks op.
#23
Had one of these and it failed just after a year, its going back but I can see why they have cheap refurbished ones.
#24
Bought 128 version great price for a backup card.
#25
Bargain, just what I needed! thank you!
#26
Bought :D thanks op

Had a M4 and it failed. Apparently its a known problem with that model. Its a nice find from the OP and a good price, but with falling SSD prices on current models which seem to have far less issues, I would say it might be better to spend a couple of quid more on a new version. I would not trust any data on a M4 again.

Don't forget 2% Quidco

I am closing this page now. I bought 2x256GB MX100 in the lightning deals last week, and a 512GB MX100. So I definitely don't need these.

My therapist will be delighted. Finally, some progress in fighting my SSD addiction!

Hi I have another M4 which failed due to the original firmware having an issue. There is a technique to restoring it and then upgrade the firmware. I'll have a look on the crucial site but if you call them they should be able to advise what the fix is.

Thanks, ordered one for my backup PC..

I wouldn't store any important files without having a backup of it anyway (especially on a refurbished drive), not sure if it's a particular problem with this drive like you say but it's hard to trust any single SSD/HDD no matter the brand and model because they all run the risk of failing.

Bought the 128GB one, fine for my media centre. Crapped myself when I read these posts a few seconds after paying with PayPal but it didn't charge me the full amount.
#36
Great got a 128 and a 256!

Nice One OP.
Quick upgrade for my sons laptop. Says it is not compatible not sure how it can't be as I have never had any problems installing SSD drives in the past and his laptop is fairly new.
In the end of the day, it's just a HDD and since when have they not been compatible with computers :)
#38
I've added both to my basket, both are coming up full price?
