This is my first post so please take it easy!

My old Dell Inspiron 15R finally conked out on me and this was recommended as a good replacement with a nice price tag. A bit smaller but probably a lot faster. Ordered today with free next day delivery and I will post an update when it arrives tomorrow.

Not sure what else to write but leave some comments and I'll be happy to respond! The seller is also doing a 20% discount on all desktops for those in the market for one (I am).

Will be sticking around for payday next week me.

In all fairness to the poster if you select the 8GB ram option in your link above it comes to the same price as their deal.
I voted hot!

oh dear, i see two problems with this refurb deal, and they both relate to things wearing out. Firstly is the classic knackered battery that doesn't hold a charge. Secondly, SSD's also have a limited lifetime based on the amount of writes they have done. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

I asked about the battery too but they said they're all tested and are in good health otherwise they'll replace it.

Rather suspect these are unlikely to have been bough from Dell with SSDs though.
So these SSDs are either from elsewhere, or new (not much demand for 128GB SSDs nowadays).
And besides, all the 128GB(ish) SSDs I have are still at close to 100% life left according to SMART. Okay, I never used them for heavy duty database writes but there's no reason to suppose these drives have had extra heavy usage either.

This is the machine I've been watching for a week or two hoping for a bargain. They sell pretty well up to around £200 for excellent example or down to £120 or so for 'bruised'. The SSD has been a standard Dell option on these, but agree they may be on last legs, as with battery. Replacing both is cheap enough but of course adds £70-80! Decent resolution given only a 12.5" screen.

I assume the increased memory and SSD were added as sweeteners at some point but there's no upgrading the old HD 4000 integrated graphics, I don't have particularly fond nostalgia for 2012 but appreciate the spec is still fine for office duties, surfing, etc. Are they shipping these units with new replacement batteries?

Woo! Success. Delivered next day as promised. Turns out it has the large 58Whr battery and it's a replacement Dell genuine one, younger than the laptop itself.

Very pleased with it. You'd think it's new!

My battery is at 8hrs right now 90%. But it changes depending on what I'm doing. Only down side is that they had the 14" model for £7 more but I didn't see it. 12.5" takes a bit of getting used to but I use it with a monitor and dock 50% of the time so it's okay.

The Dell is a refurb laptop from 2012. The screen resolution is lower despite what the other guy says it also has poor viewing angles, oversaturated colours and crap contrast ratio too. Tidy spec back in its day and better build quality but it's dated!

So I picked one up A Grade i7 with 8GB and SSD due for delivery Monday for £199, so fingers crossed. I want it for the small size and for usage exclusively on the road with Office 365. For the doubters where can you get better for £199?
