but you don't get a warranty with ebay usually

Plenty of better pcs on ebay i just got two e7400's to use as htpcs around the house for £20 a pop + 2 hd5450's @ £15.00 each

3 months warranty isn't going to win any awards, if it isn't DOA then the chances are it will see out 3 months

1gb RAM with win 7 64bit... that could be a sticky situation.

@oohflamey can you link me to any such rigs for £20?

Actually you raise a very good point there, as these are DDR2 so very expensive to pick up extra RAM for. I think I'd rather find one with a cut in the hard disk size to gain more RAM if anything. As others have said, price is nothing amazing. About the going rate with a warranty, cut the warranty out and easily obtainable for under £50 on ebay. I've seen quite a few similar specs in my local freecycle pages.

OP please forgive me hijacking your thread, but I know nothing about PCs and was wondering if oohflamey wouldn't mind pointing me in the direction of a cheap one just for Internet use at home?

sorry the chap that had them was doing an office clear on ebay he only had 5 and they all went. I'd say 40/50 quid and you'd get a good spec. Win 7 2gb ram and a dual core processor of some description

These aren't the best deals but better than the above. Ebay is a waiting game

It all depends what you want to do with it, they're all capable of doing internet and such like it's when you start wanting to watch stuff online that you notice bigger differences. But a cheap graphics card will solve that.
