Dont worry mate, all the people that buy £250 laptops and £300 complete systems are voting cold :whistling:

Having said that, there are rumours of an imminent update to the iMac lineup

Have some heat

Most rumors are just for a spec change, doubt they are bringing out a new model, though I wish they would bring out a 30". I have had my 24" 2.4 for 18 months now and would love a nice big 30" version.

Apple is very secretive with regard to new releases, your best bet is to bookmark http://www.macrumors.com/ and check it every few days.

Just been in at an Apple reseller, he was basically trying to say to me that the iMac is no good for my print and design purposes and I would better get a mac pro.

I was going to buy a Mac Pro for my own usage but for my other designers I was looking at the cheaper iMac option. What you mac guys say, is he chattin a load of koblers

Yeah, load of rubish mate. We use iMacs at work for design and print.

Also, it depends what your doing, if you doing massive exhibition boards, then maybe a Mac pro would be better, but just maxing out the iMac ram would probably help in that situation

Sorry for the late reply. JayBird, in my case it is a very broad range of print and design i.e. large format printing, canvas printing, litho printing, digital printing and then in the field of design it is again broad such as corporate branding, product design, architectural design, new media.

So as you can see we try covering as many avenues in the print and design field. Problem now is that since we are planning on buying 1 mac pro, 2 x 24" imac, 1 x 20" imac i feel it may be a bad idea to buy now but the issue is that our new design studio is being unveiled soon and no details of the update have been released on even macrumours. I dont want to splash all that cash and find out the machines have been updated
