These aren't always faulty items, they are usually customer returns, or store display models. They are guarenteed if they don't work. Just take it to an apple store and they will try an repair it or replace it.

You need to understand how Apple's return policy works here... if you buy a device from them you can return it for a refund within ten days for any reason at all. As soon as that happens it's a refurb unit. I've seen people return iPod's becuase they're the wrong colour (obviously when bought as presents), becuase they went for, say, an 8Gb model then found after using it for a day or two they needed a 16Gb model, because they weren't happy with the way iTunes works and on and on and on. Doesn't have to be physical defects with the product.

I've just bought a 16Gb iPod Touch for my wife as a birthday present and I was amazed - it really does look like new, all the accessories including the little stick on plastic screen cover thing, the only thing it's missing is the original retail box. Not a mark or blemish anywhere. If you want an iPod Nano feel free to go for a refurb unit, you won't regret it.

Yeah, I saw a current generation iMac on the refurb store the other day. £680, gone in like 30 minutes, which was too soon for me to convince myself I needed one...

Not sure how stupid a question this is but...

Is it possible to not use itunes with this(any) ipod or are you forced to use it?

Wow a whole £28 off for something thats secondhand

WOW. You still don't understand how Apple refurbs work even after it has been explained in this thread. Nice post. Not.

Just to confirm to those not sure, you get a brand new battery, new outer casing, new screen, it is basically a brand new ipod to all intensive purposes just doesn't come in the stylish plastic presentation box, will probably come in the standard white Apple box.

I bought my first ipod refurb 3 years ago and never consider buying new now.

Hope this helps

I bought a Powerbook off the refurb store a couple of years ago, and it was exactly that. It was basically brand new in a brown box. Delivery took about a week, but I shouldn't have thought that the nanos would take that long.

Just in case the apple offer sells out - You can also use one of the £30 off £60 spend for new customers to get them for this price at the numerous littlewoods etc etc stores, just got one for the father in law, but as the £30 off deals are posted everyday I thought I'd just add a reply for those people who hadn't already seen them

So your saying their not secondhand?

Oh jeez. The majority of them are as new returns. Sure there are some that are preowned and developed faults but they are then refurbished to new condition and sold with a 12 month warranty. Just because you see these products as tarnished doesn't make this deal a bad one.

Show me where you can by 'second hand' products that come with a full warranty. Better still, show me where you can get a brand new Nano for the same price as these from Apple's refurb store.

You lack of engish knowledge makes it hard to converse with you, it might help if you say which of the following doesn't refer to secondhand
preowned, faulty returned, refurbished, as new

The funny thing is there are lots of better MP3/4 players on the market at cheaper new prices LOL

Resorting to personal insults doesn't help your cause here - especially when you start the insult by saying 'You' instead of 'Your'. Well done.

I agreed that some would be second hand but as I asked in my previous post - tell me where you can buy second hand products with a full warranty.

There may be better players out there but this post is about the iPod Nano. Do you rubbish all posts on the basis that you think there are better alternative products?

1 Touché
2 Off the top of my head, Dell, Currys, PCworld, Kodak, Dyson in fact most big suppliers do with decent discounts
3 I rubbished the poor discount for a secondhand item to start with not the product

re.2. Ok fair enough. I have bought few refurbs from a couple the retailers you mention and they were in real 'secondhand' condition (ie. dirty and very cosmetically damaged) which brings me to my next point:

re.3 - You really cannot call these items second hand in the broadest sense. You are rubbishing the deal because you are getting what you call a poor discount for what is essentially a 'secondhand' item. You cannot compare Apples refurbs with normal secondhand products. They are refurbished back to new condition. Many don't need this as they have only been opened and then returned to Apple because the person changed their mind or didn't like teh colour etc.You will rarely find a single blemish on them and wouldn't beable to tell the product from a new one. Secondhand products (in the traditional sense, which you are alluding to in your arguement) are certainly not compareable. They will be cosmetically damaged in some way unless never touched.

Therefore, considering you are getting an iPod for a discount and it looks brand new with a 12 mnth warranty means you are getting agood deal IMO.

BTW I'm not an iPod fanboy, I have had an iPod in the past but thought that the sound quality was poor (as is my wife's new Nano) so I agree that there are many better players out there.

Your right we could but secondhand is secondhand and nothing will make it new, so like you say WTP

You really keep going don't you.

I see that in the majority of your posts you knock other people's deals. Why don't you find some great deals yourself and post them as you seem to always be able to find something better?
#28
whatsThePoint;5686406
The majority making fun of crap deals yes, the minority are great deals which no one argues with

PS how sad is going thru my posts LOL get a life LOL :w00t::w00t::w00t:

You can put all the smilies in the world after that comment but it's obvious that isn't a joke.

It doesn't look like making fun and other people have taken offence too (I know because I am 'sad' enough to look at people's responses to your posts).

It's because of posters like you that I no longer post deals to this site - it's not worth it. People go out of their way to find deals, research them and then post them and then people like you take obvious great delight in finding it cheaper somewhere else or telling everyone how you think the product is rubbish. People think they have found a bargain. If you find it cheaper elsewhere don't shoot them down in flames. Be polite and then they'll post again.

Do you think that being abusive like you have in two of your posts to me makes you clever?

I used to like this site but unfortunately a small minority are spoiling it for me.
