Can anyone tell me if theres a better deal than this please?
#2
I don't know if this is a good price or not (presumably it is) but I've had several refurb iPods from Apple and they have all been as new - if you're not bothered about the packaging they tend to be a good deal.
banned#3
I'm not fussed about packaging or it being new just after best possible price.

Will have a look around and if don't see anything cheaper will go with this.
#4
Delivery is usually very quick as well. I had one faulty one and Apple dealt with it quickly and without fuss... which is always a good thing.
#5
Not unless you buy a baseball bat and a balaclava! :-D

Seriously though, I have noticed in the past week that they are no longer listing the 32GB Ipod Touch as a 'New Item' on the Apple Store Website.

The US Refurb store was full of them the other day 32GBs including, now teh UK site has refurbs (although no 32GBs) This leads me to believe in the next month or 2 we will see Revisions in the iPod Touch, and I will even go as far as to speculate they will have the new cases like the 3G iPhones.

Watch this space!

True they may as well be brand new.

I have never had an issue with Apples Delivery or Customer services.

Buying a refurbished item direct from the manufacturer with the same warranty that you'd get if you'd bought a 'new' one is hardly the same as buying second hand is it?

And just how is it different?

Someone else used it, then returned it bust or whatever, then they clean it up stick in an odd component and sell it for about 90% (Usually) of what a brand new one would be.

If it was underwear or shoes would you want it?

What you do in your own time is no business of mine but I don't tend to wear undies or shoes on my face. Still whatever floats your boat.

If you have a problem with refurbished items why did you even look in this thread? Like I said above all the refurb iPods I've had don't look like they have ever left the factory and you do get brand new earphones and covers with them.

bigpockets have the 16G in stock £189.99 (refurb) http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?nav=6&lang=&product=GRADEA132 I got one about 3 weeks ago for my birthday/holidays, and put the 2.0 software on last week and I love it
#15
lets face iphone battery sucks, so you can buy one of these for music and still use own phone. it also better from apple them incase you repair or replace in the future.
#16
Blimey don't think I have ever seen someone so passionate about not having a 2nd hand item.

A lot of apple refurb stuff isn't actually second hand at all, its more often than not product that had a problem first time round that didn't pass Quality Control, software fault, slight damage etc. then becuase its been 'fixed' it can't be sold as new product.

Don't get me wrong some are returns, but they are tested and given a 12month warranty.

If you try to return an iPod with physical damage, they won't replace it.

TIP: The apple store are much less strict about replacements than sending it back to their big repair centre in Holland. I got a water damaged nano replaced instore with no questions asked.

The refurbs are the same as the warrantee replacements and are genuinely as good as new.

Can anyone tell me if its worth waiting til i go to the US to buy one of these? Is it going to be cheaper out there or is it still worth buying the refurb one?

Cheers!

This is a iPod Touch, not an iPhone, sohood. :)

EDIT: Sorry, realised what you meant. Can be read both ways!

You can... inside of iTunes, which blows every other music library app out of the water.

We're talking iTouch, not iPhone

O2 have the exclusive deal with Apple for the iPhone in the UK, so Amazon wouldnt be allowed to sell it. Lucky escape for Amazon I reckons :w00t:
