Nope. They come in a plain brown box from experience. Everything else will be as new though.

This is a good deal, but still about £150 more than I'd be prepared to pay for a white plastic macbook.

I think it depends on your luck, but likely not. Google image search shows some MacBooks in original box, so not. But mostly not original.

I got this brand new from PC World last year for £699

many retailers (amazon, dixons,ebuyer,dabs...) have them brand new in stock @£769 delivered . Anyway, it's not a good value for money (imo at least £300 too much) :D

...but have some heat for your effort ;)

Why are they mugs? This is a deal site and this is a hot deal. Can you find it cheaper?....its not a good deal just because its cheaper than else4where. Its only a good deal if you get it for less tham what you thinkmiots worth. i hacve a single sock for £50 my neighbour is selling tjhe same for £80 do you want it?Didn't think so:whistling:
#13
That's strange, it shows as out of stock if you go via 'GO TO DEAL' button on top of the page, but if you go via direct link it's still in stock.

HUKD link is http:// store.apple.com /uk/product/FC207B/A?aosid=p204&siteid=1018132&program_id=2554&cid=OAS-EMEA-AFF&tduid=bd53afae215892f37c30e33a230aa95f&mco=MTU5MjkwMjk

But direct one is shorter

http:// store.apple.com/uk/product/FC207B/A?mco=MTU5MjkwMjk

HUKD probably adds something to the link and it doesn't work with Apple Store.

I bought this a couple of days ago for this price I thought it was a amazing price, but did not dare to post it here as to the apple haters, I received it and the screen is so amazing puts my sony vaio screen to shame, anyway apple comps seam to run faster my 2.66GHz imac boot ups faster then even 920 i7 pc's, maybe its the ddr3 ram, maybe its the operating system, who knows, but this is a very good deal (was). They update their stock every night on the website so check around 1:00am for the new refurbished stock, there's quite a number of good deals sometimes which only last a hour or so, and the normal people see the deals next day but all the goodies are gone, just send me some good karma for the info.

It's not the hardware it's the OS. OSX is a very nice OS, Windows 7 isn't too shabby either. There's no getting around the fact that you pay a lot more for Apple hardware than you would for a PC with the same spec. The only reason to choose a Mac is the OS, the hardware is nicely engineered but way over price. I'd go hackintosh rather buy this massively overpriced hardware.

Hot for the new unibody macbook!

So much beter than the old white macbooks
#20
Just a quick warning to all those interested...

I almost got one of these but realised at the last minute that it doesn't have Firewire connections...which means it's not so great for music and video editing enthusiasts.

Also, you need an extra adapter (mini adapter) to connect it to a VGA or DVI monitor.

So please check your requirements before buying this!

Didn't this post just prove the fashion accessory theory? Like the fact that so many people are happy to pay so much money for these things wasn't proof enough. A willingness to pay completely over the odds for something just because its shiney is fine people - but at least be a little more honest with yourselves.

Education store is unfortunately only for students. Most people are not eligible to purchase.

Indeed they are not eligible .. But dosnt stop people doing it .. It will come and you wont hear nothing from apple so why not !

Looks like link mrluke provided is working. Normally it won't even let you browse if you select your uni manually, but I just tried and can actually go to checkout.

Yep its a external Link ..
Works fine , know loads of people who have used it :P

In Apple land the definition of refurbished is basicly a brand new product with full warranty and all accessories, but not in the original box. Its not an old and used second hand product. Its a hot deal as you won't get a MacBook of this generation cheaper anywhere, new or used.
#29
I've ordered from that link at my home ;) It works. 5 months on, not heard anything from Apple.

Uni discount whilst sitting at home (Y)

Also, using that link you can get 3 years Apple Care for £50, rather than the normal £200

The reason the Applecare is cheap is because all MacBooks from the educational store have a 3-year hardware warranty and 1-year telephone support, the £50 for AppleCare simply tops up the 1-year telephone support to 3-years.
#31
Apple products are exemplary and nothing compares to them in both design and function.

Unfortunately this comes with a high price tag that some will pay and others won't.

If you can afford it, then go for it.

In fairness, as far as 13" laptops go the price isn't bad at all. 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo, 250GB hard drive, 7-hour battery and nvidia graphics. I'd be interested to see the alternatives for £700 that match or beat the Apple at everything? A Pentium Dual Core or 15.6" laptop dosen't count.

Are you sure about this?

Because the salesman sold my GF the extended warranty stating there was only 1 year warranty with the machine otherwise. She certainly wouldn't have purchased it if what you're saying is true.

Please do feel free to show us the other 13" laptops on the market offering better value for money, at least matching the Apple specs in every way?
