What is it with all the Apple haters on HUKD? Pretty much all the Apple deals go cold straight away...

ssd would be nice instead of hdd, if it had ssd i'd be very tempted, but the spec is out-dated on this.

Colder than Eskimo pee ! £280 off near £2k for a Refurb ?! Only Apple can get away with that ! Out of date , overpriced tosh, if you love Apple , why are you on HUKD ? As you obviously have more money than sense.

Nice laptop but not a big saving

Because it's £1529 for a refurb! Not everyone is bowled over with every thing with an apple logo on it!

I have no strong feelings in the mac vs pc debate but to £1500+ for a core 2 duo laptop these day is ridicoulous. For that soet of money I'd expect i7 or i5 at the very least.

for £1529 I'd like more than just an apple logo please - a year ago I got same spec machine (if not better acer 17" c2d blu ray nvidia 240m gt etc) for ~£500. In the grand scheme of things this is the opposite of a good deal - with VAT rising and the fact that all that is now pretty much out of date..

Typical of the poor people who vote every Mac deal cold.

Go and moan about having rubbish jobs rather than taking it out on poor Apple.

F$%k me you've really been sucked in. Is this a status symbol or a laptop?

I know nowt about laptops so haven't voted.

What are the benefits of this over a similar spec pc?

Very hot deal

Tight wads don't even give you a 7200rpm drive. I would have been upset handing over 1500 notes over a year ago for this spec.

Gonna have to agree with most on here, very expensive for the spec...

Or moan about being a real human being, who happens to be a student, and so cant afford to spend 1.5k on a laptop (and my acer is much better bang for buck than this, have fun paying over the odds for apple) Typical of the brand-whores who will pay for a logo

That's 3 times the price you would pay for the same spec latop if it did not have the apple badge on it - apple are good, just not that good

OMG, Talk about living in a dream world! I presume you have one on order then?

Not that hot a deal, I got a refurbished 17" last year for just under £1400, stuck 8Gb RAM and a 256Gb C300 SSD in it.

To all those commenting about the machine being out of date or poor spec compared to a PC, grow up, vote on the deal. If you want to argue about the spec then go somewhere else, also and it's quite CLEAR that YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING about.
