Two questions, if someone can kindly answer them:

1. Which one would you choose Samsung Galaxy S6 or A5 (2017 model)

2. If I buy the S6 n EE will my Virgin sim work in that smartphone?

Many thanks

Anyone bought from MM before. What sort of nick this going to be in pls.

Good, Used is "shows signs of moderate wear and tear" according to their Web site. It sounds a reasonable deal but if I recall from the other MM thread several posters felt their previous purchases were not as good as described.
#7
very nice price - curious how MM refurbs are in terms of quality?
#8
A colleague of mine just got a "Good" iPhone 6 from them, didn't charge and the button didn't click in. Had to send back for a refund. Just one experience but not the best sign.

1. Go with the A5 if you can get it under £300. The S6 had poor battery life on launch, god knows how a used model years old will fare.
2. Nah

They haven't been going that long. As the saying goes "I'm pretty sure I've got pants older than them".

I'm not sure where you two are getting your information from? Generally Virgin SIM's do work in EE locked phones, apart from iPhones. That's certainly been the case in my experience anyway.

Thank you I went with the A5 as Virgin offerd me a good deal with
1500 mins
Unlim Txt
3gb Data
with a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017)
altogether £20! I think that's worth it.

Check the camera. If they've been dropped the auto focus may be knackered. It was on mine.

I would recommend them...bought a 6s plus from them recently. Although it was mentioned grade B(very good) the phone was pristine no signs of wear at all.
#17
very good price but in my opinion the jump from the s6 to the s7 was extreme if you can afford the s7 plump for that much better phone.

I don't think this is an especially good price with so many low price alternatives out there.

You can buy a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for £50 less than this or if you don't want to import go for a Lenovo P2 for £20 more. Both better phones in my opinion and battery life is amazing where this phones is very poor. No sd card expansion either.

I thought the S6 was the poorest Galaxy flagship Samsung ever released.

why would you research their site, they're a huge company that advertises on the telly ????

Good choice and good deal.

The A5 is a nice mid range phone and the battery life is really good and it'd great for the average user.

I think the 2015 flagships are best left alone, pretty bad year for Android unfortunately.

Having bought 5 phones from them for work, they are good for delivery, good for returns/replacement when one of them suddenly stopped emitting sound but the condition "Good" is pretty poor I'm my view. Expect scratches on the screen especially, no genuine accessories and also don't expect it to be clean; one that we got had what I can only describe as "ear gunk" in the earpiece at the top of the phone, it was pretty grim!
Other than that, MM as a company are great to deal with!

S6 and if it's EE locked it should work on Virgin as EE hosts that MVNO. No idea why people are saying no...

S6 should be faster but the A5 (2017) is waterproof which may be useful to you? And the memory card slot. It (the A5) should have much better battery.

Agreed. Samsung warranty is appalling and their phones are not worth buying.overpriced and better options available. Now jumped ship from Samsung after 10 years.

is the P2 better than the S6 Camera wise?

Previous magpie employed.they have a dedicated tech section in the warehouse. In terms of the quality you can pretty much make a direct comparison to the likes of mazuma etc. They pretty much just hashed their whole system. Buy cheap refurb test sell. They also have dedicated customer service teams on site during office hours.

Just in case it sheds some light

Recently left the Windows ecosystem and bought a pristine S6 from XSItems on Ebay, excellent handset, great quality, battery not bad, and actually a lot better than I was expecting having read quite a few reviews before buying. Don't really know much about the A5, but the S6 is very quick, especially the camera, also has a great high resolution screen.

No. I would have to say it isn't but it's still decent. And I'd take the P2 over a refurbished S6 in every other department.

Thanks still plotting my next handset and the P2 screen size and battery size appeal, reminds me of the massive Anker batteries I used to get for my Galaxy S2 and S4 :D

Also consider the Redmi Note 4 Global edition. Around £120 and a beautiful phone that is a match for phones costing twice as much. Lots of deals on this site for the phone.

replaceable battery is history and lack of it is not really an issue
lack of SD card in S6 is a big shame

what utter drivel....
with the s6 having no micro sd card slot and no removable battery the s5 is far superior....
the s7(which i own) redeems itself with an sdcard slot and the ability to install apps to the sdcard but would be far better if the battery was removable... as for less battery life. i haven't noticed it...

the above deal is a good price for a terrible phone.... dont get it....

its not that big of an issue, but without it they have lost the best advantage the s4 had, i could keep a spare battery in my wallet ready to switch out when the main one died.....personally i only got the s7 because i was offered a good deal by ee so that i wouldnt leave them....

it's between the S5 and S7 for me.
this one understands, both are good choices, the s6 above is not....
you should go s5 if
a) you are limited on budget
b) you really like the removable battery
you should go s7 if:
c) you want a better phone
d) you dont mind offsetting the lack of a removable battery with a powerbank(and dont mind the eventual death of the battery in many years)

p.s. my s7 was much better before the recent os update, if you have a choice dont update
