Its a good price but I couldn't recommend the phone. I had two. The first would drain its battery at random but the main problem was reception as I had to disable the 3G before the phone would work. Even then it would ring and cut off the moment I put my hand on it. I never got the wirelss to work properly and it would favour the phone connection for email even when connected to wireless. Bluetooth was terrible and I tried 3 kits before giving up.

In all I spent two weeks on forums before giving up and getting an S740 which works as it should.

I've owned a Xperia X1 for about 8 months now and I've never had any of the problems Jeff3G has had with his. Maybe you had a faulty phone or didn't have the latest firmware running?

The battery life is fantastic, the wireless conection works like a charm and the bluetooth links up to my bluetooth handsfree car stereo flawlessly. I have TomTom amongst other applications and the phone runs everything without a problem. The slide out keyboard is much better for texting than using a touchscreen IMO

Its a great phone if you are happy using windows mobile but I think the phone is starting to get a little dated now there are other phones I would consider if I had almost 300 pounds to spend on a new handset today

I wanted to like this phone as it ticked all the boxes. When the first one drained the battery twice in the first week, once less than an hour after being charged, it was replaced. I updated the firmware on the second hoping to resolve the issues but it made no difference. The main problem I had with bluetooth is that it would constantly hunt the volume, drop out, and not pair reliably. I was used to windows mobile as my previous phone ran it.

A couple of other gripes, I missed alot of calls as it took so long for the software to acknowledge I had pressed the button. Also I found I could navigate round most of the phone fine with my fingers but had to use the stick to shut down the window as the X in the corner was too small to hit. I know this is a windows thing, but it should be easier with touchscreen.

The S740 is made by the same people but works, the small screen is the price you pay for a keypad but it is much more reliable to use than the touchscreen. Personally I think touchscreen on a phone is over-rated if you use the phone as a phone. To answer squadronline I paid about £290 for the phone. I had to buy the phone as vodafone would not offer it. For the tariff if you say you are leaving the best deal they can apparently do on a non-hardware basis is half the normal rate, so I got 700mins, 100 text and 'unlimited' date for £17.50 per month.

I am glad the phone worked for you, but I lost two weeks trying to get it to work for me before giving up.
