I've just noticed that there are a large number of refurbished Toshiba laptops on sale at Bigoffers.co.uk. I haven't checked to see if they are great bargains, but I bought a refurbished Toshiba laptop over five years ago and it was like new and is still going strong so they are alway worth buying IMO. They range in price from £189 to £749 so there is something in all price ranges. The only downer is that most of them only come with a 6 month guarantee and have Vista installed, but as Toshiba are one of the most reliable brands when it comes to laptops I don't think that the guarantee length is something to worry about too much. Don't forget to use these 10% off/free delivery codes courtesy of garbage456.

hands up everyone that works at Bigoffers!

Laptops are among the MOST unreliable consumer electronics items on sale today - 1 in 3 fail in the first three years so I would say that the warranty does actually matter! Having said that this report agrees that Toshiba is the most reliable:

See threads on here about bigoffers offers! At the moment, the consensus seems to be to go nowhere near this business.

I'd have thought that a five year guarantee from BigOffers is no more attractive that one of six months from them.
On the other hand, a one year guarantee from almost anyone else would be worth having. That said, your rights under legislation and European Regulations cannot be taken away from you (but I still wouldn't want to have to deal with Bigoffers if something went wrong.
Laptops aren't inherently unreliable - it's the junk people download and the dodgy sites they visit that inflict most of the trouble. Hence, two different user-types will have completely different experiences.

I feel better now! :-)

Bought refurbished Laptop from Bigoffers yesterday for £121.
Not yet had a confirmation of order through and being the first time that I've ordered from them i'm a bit worried if I will actually get it or not.
Anyone used them before? any info would be very much appreciated.
