Have to agree, I love my subways but breakfast subs are just wrong - burger shaped sausages should be banned :?

does it actually contain any egg or bacon??
to be fair i like the regular subs. except they always try and fob you off with loads of onion and lettuce when they put about 2 strips of green peppers on.
the worst breakfasts were burger king. they were vile. mcdonalds mcmuffins are actually the only thing i buy from there.
#14
They are ok, and yes they seem really saltry and in fact when I got one before they asked if I wanted salt and pepper on it

from Wiki

A saveloy is a type of vividly red sausage served in English fish and chip shops, also available in parts of Australia where it is commonly deep fried in batter as a "battered sav" or unbattered as a "kabana" and in New Zealand, where it is also known colloquially as a sav. It is made of pork and is highly seasoned. The word comes from the French cervelas, a pork sausage, sometimes made from pigs' brains. Its taste is similar to frankfurters or red pudding. It is mostly eaten with chips, but occasionally also in a sandwich accompanied with pease pudding or stuffing or mustard; indeed all 3 at once is most common. This is known as a saveloy dip in the North East of England, as one half of the bun is dipped in the water that the sausage is boiled in.

Its the brains bit thats a bit worrying. Def not for veggies

It's a salt-fest!! But so nice!

6” Breakfast Subs....

Grams of Salt (6 a day i think is the recommended)

Cheese & Egg 2.1
Mega Breakfast (includes cheese) 3.8
Sausage & Egg (includes cheese) 3.4
Sausage 2.4

99p, ill give it a go and post back my verdict.
#20
The bacon one is a couple of strips of cold bacon in a roll which they then toast to heat up. I usually really like Subway sarnies but find these too salty. You can get a nice hot 99p bacon butty in Wetherspoons, if you don't mind sitting with people drinking cider at 9 a.m.
#21
i get bacon breakfast sub every day for £1.30
cant go wrong
#22
Once had one with everything on, including lashings of sauce. Felt sick for the rest of the day. However, I think its ok at tis price .. would definitely buy it.. but go easy on the sauce.

Congratulation on managing to buy McMuffins from BK.

do subway do burger shaped thats mcdonalds . last time I had a breakfast it was a sausage cut in half
#26
If you tell them you're vegetarian, I presume most places would swap the offer with a tuna or salad subway instead.

Tuna subs are delicious with cheeze toasted on top, a drizzle of honey and mustard, sweetcorn, onions, jalapenos and olives.

You what? I've never heard of that! Urgh, soggy hotdogs :?

anyway, it doesn't look like the breakfast subs are 'too' bad for you reguardless of what they're made from...

http://www.subway.co.uk/menu_nutrition_info.asp#break

why worry about it? if you start down that road you've got to include regular sausages with corn-starch pumped in to them, pork pies, crab sticks, fish fingers... practically any meat/fish product which has been processed in some way will have bits of things you wouldn't normally fancy eating in them.

99p is hot, just wish they'd carry that over to their regular subs!
#28
had one of these a few weeks back and will never get another one.

cheap yes but put another quid towards it and you can probably get a bacon roll and coffee from an independent cafe/coffee shop style place.

i know some people that go mad for subway but everytime i've been the bread tasted far from freshbaked.

Machofairy you're so right, 99p to feel sick all day is a bargain!

I myself have paid waaaaaay more than that on a lad's night out. :-D

I agree, I enjoy subs so thought I'd give this a try.....but it was salty and re heated fatty rubbish:x, at least McDonalds tend to cook the breakfast fresh and does not taste of pure salt. Maybe someone from subs can read this and sort the breakfast out.

My subway does (unfortunately) or at least did when I had the misfortune of having one of their breakfast subs.

I was so looking forward to it as well - subways are usually so awesome!

Never had one of these, but for that price I am tempted...however, I have to say my junk food breakfast of choice is the MacDonalds Bacon & Egg Bagel (as long as its made with some degree of care and attention!)
#35
I'll be giving one a try :)

i had one last week and it was rubbish

Off to Wetherspoon's at 9.10 a.m. tomorrow with my friend - drop the kids at school then it's the 99p butty and 90p coffee. Get some funny looks from the veterans as a) we are women, and b) we are under 75 years old and not drinking a pint. If Wetherspoon's is unappealing (we'll see how busy it is, I get a bit scared by some of the people stood outside smoking), Sainsbury's cafe do a big bacon butty (3 large rashes) for £1.50.

what time do they open ?

yeah the brekkie subs aren't good. the normal subs are amazing though, love this place.
