I bought one back in March for £23. It's currently a very good price for what you're getting (see the reviews)!

I cannot recommend this product enough, i have had this model since the end of 2005 and it is still going strong, 5* product imo!

Yeah it;'s an amazing model I've been through loads and once I found this I stuck with it.

Considering picking up a backup while it's this price.

Whats the shortest this will cut? I use beard trimmers as i cannot use a blade/rotary shavers as i always get very bad irritation, no matter what i do, so im resorted to using beard trimmers, so the shorter it cuts the better. My current model is http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500002451&langId=-1&searchTerms=PHILIPS+7+IN+1+DELUXE+GROOMING

Does anyone know if this will cut shorter/is better then my current model?

i got one of these a year ago and it stopped working after 10 months although i did sprinkle it under the tap now and again to clean the hairs off but didn't think that would brake it as it was always fine but i contacted amazon and they just said they didn't require the broken item back and they will just refund me, they did what they said and i just bought another one. very good customer service i must say. i think they didn't want it back because it would of cost them more on postage than the item is worth just to see its broken anyways.

the product itself is brilliant i wish i new about these when they first came out as i always struggled with shaving spots and trapped hairs that didn't look nice. so i stopped having a close shave and settled for this product as very fine stubble looks attractive in my opinion and i like the way i look with a slight stubble look so i shave with this on setting 1 (the closest) and i now never get shaving bumps or trapped hairs. very nice product well worth the money.

1 downside is that you cant use it with the power plugged in so if it runs out you have to wait till its charged. so it can be annoying if it runs out half way through a shave lol, its happened a couple times.

According to the product page:

The Barba has nine pre-set length settings to help you achieve the cutting length you want. These settings range from 1 millimetre (mm) for barely-there short stubble up to 11.5 mm for longer length beards. This means you can style from grade 0.5 all the way up to 4 with ease. And for finer detailing such as trimming of the beard line, there's a handy pop-up trimmer.

The Philips model you linked to says it ranges from 4-20mm so the Remington certainly offers a closer shave/trim if you trust the figures.

I had one of these. Not the most comfortable shave I have to say but did the job and gives an even shave. Shortest seting is easily short enough. Unfortunately mine refused to charge after 2 months of use.

Oh WTF! I ordered it when it was £18.99 as a late Christmas present, and it's dropped by another £6 or so. Will they refund the difference or will I need to return it, and order another at this price?

Rather annoying, as I haven't received it yet which is understandable.
