or the R720 from LX direct for £63.50 with delivery or possibly £38.50 with £25 voucher code.

Would like to know the differences between these models too?

Great find col!!! hoepfully your discount codes should work & LX will honour it!

as with the differeneces between R710 & R720?? apart from stating the obvious, one being silver & the other bronze....... duh

I guess the R720 has a two number Lcd display advisng you of the shaving time remaining until you have to put it on charge.

The R710 instead, has a led warning light which will flash before the battery runs dead on you.

I guess that is the major/minor difference, depends whichever way you look at it ;)

some may prefer silver & others bronze.

if any1 finds any other differences please feel free to post, cheers ;)

I got one on saturday and it went back yesterday as the shave was crap. My 8 year old panasonic gives a closer shave. The motor seemed very slow and not quality at all.

I have only had a close electric shave from one company and that is Panasonic foil shavers. I have tried Braun, Phillips, boots own etc and none compare at all.

I thought maybe the remington would be ok but it just was not. That is my experience of them though so others may be different.

wow waj1234, sorry you didn't like it mate

Well its quite interesting what you pointed out.

I guess as with 'most' products they never make them as good as they use to!

But on the contrary, some people did really like them, especially my friend! he was over the moon & the fact that they are alleged by remington 'designed' by the BMW Group DesignworksUSA (logos are on the box) put the icing on the cake;-)

I think the skin complexion of evry individual plays an important role on which shavers suits u the best. Some are too sensitive but can give u a close shave & others are well right offf it & you will have to finish off with ur razor blades. Its what suits ur skin type really!

I guess as with all shavers you could never replace your old one which you have possesd for many years!

Yeah I agree that not everyone has same skin and so not all suit. But I have used many electric shavers and not one of the rotary ones have been any good.

This one was appauling and even my 10 quid braun travel one got closer. I had to keep shaving over the same spot but it did nothing but make me sore.
It is very under powered in the motor department too.

I bought one for my 82 year old dad and he is thrilled to bits.
He said it is the closest shave he has ever had.

It is the first time he has used a rotary shaver and he said that he only used the minimum of pressure to get good results.

As you say though, not everyone has the same skin.

My son and I bought the 720 model yesterday, and like you we dont like it.
I contacted customer Argos services and they told me that as we had used the shavers we could not take them back.

How come you could take yours back?

I bought the 710 from Boots about a month ago, half price, triple points (+bonus), but in hindsight a rubbish deal. Must be the worst electric shaver I've used. Nowhere near as close as a Braun but ten times the irritation.

If it's 'faulty' ;-) they should take it back. Maybe the battery does not hold a charge ;-)

I think I'll stick to wet shaving :) The Gillette Fusion gives the best shave for me, only the blades are expensive

Update.

I gave my 720 another go last evening, I took it very gently
followed the instructions, and I managed to get a really good
close shave.

I cant say I'm thrilled with the shaver, but I'm ok with it now.

Ive done a bit of reserch and lots of guys on other forums have
said that it takes time to get used to it.

So not excatly a  :-D

More of an OK

Yep agree with rayman, wet shave via traditional methods is the best you can get to a clean shave.

with these machine shavers, your're not going to get immaculate results like you get with the blades. But if you use yours for 4-6weeks then you can get good results, its a just a matter of time to get use to them.

Having said that I find that if you stick with a well known brand, who are known for making shaving equipments, then its a first step in attaining good shaving results.
