I have these and find them really good. My hair is quite thick and hard to straighten. HOT

Why are some people voting this cold for? it warms up to 230 degrees!! Its says it in the opening post lol.
#5
Cant be good for your hair though can it?...., straightening when wet.
#6
I've got these - they aren't as good as GHD but they really do the job for wet to dry hair if your in a rush. Excellent price.

For a third of the price of ghd's, how would you rate this? A third as good or more? Just trying to figure out if its good money/quality, ratio wise.

great price. thanks

As above, arent they bad for your hair? Straightening wet hair surely bad
banned#10
Not all hair straighteners are "wet to straight". Those that are surely are made bearing the concerns in mind, hence straightening ur hair whilst wet on 'normal' straighteners = bad, on dedicated and advertised ones like this = not so bad.

Actually these are quite bad for your hair. They are better than normal dry hair only straighteners but still straightening wet hair at such high temperatures will destroy your hair over time, it makes hair extremely weak and dry. I guess so long as you aren't using these every day or at least use a heat protection beforehand it would be ok but I personally wouldn't use them on my hair.

I can't imagine 230degree heat on my wet hair! The handle looks strangely curved aswell. Not surprised these are coming down in price.

I've got a pair and I hate them! They do dry great but my hair looks like straw after I've used them. Good price but I wouldn't recommend them.
#14
My daughter mentioned that she would love these. I saw them in tesco's yesterday for about £49.00.

I have already bought her a normal pair but when I saw the price of this post I was tempted but now I've read some of the comments about turning your head to straw I won't buy but it is a good price.

Thank you.

The reviews are pretty good on Amazon, so I might get a pair (as a present for someone).
Thanks.
Heat added.

My missus has a set of these and she turned them on one morning, I went to move them two seconds later and they were hot enough to make me drop them. Heat up incredibly fast so I'd imagine they're great if you're in a rush.
#17
just wondering if they would be good for colour treated hair.
#18
just ordered a set will be good for me as i have athritis so won't have to use hair dryer so will help me with my arms!!

I know this can be the same with any product but i'd be wary of most of them. Remington flooded the hair and beauty blog community with these, they gave away hundreds of pairs and asked for positive reviews to be posted on various websites! (more freebies come there way)

I went round several 'beauty shops' asking the sales assistants what straighteners they recommended, even with money no object. They all recommended the relatively (very) cheap babyliss 230- even over the ghd range. App the 230s are excellent vfm. I bought them for my partner at £35 from boots on special offer 1 1/2 years ago and she says her friends always comment on how good they are.
#21
They work! and dry your hair, straight, fast, but yes as you would think they cause a lot of damage, in my opinion far worse than straightners you use when hair us dry.
I bought them when they first came out and boots had them half price. They were broke within the year, after very light use, they do dry your hair out, even with a protection spray. They are a good price, but I would not buy or use again.

Top deal. These straighteners are fab, i have had two pairs of these now. My hair is naturally curly but you cant tell after using these babies!!!!!!!

sorry but having read all the reviews yest i came to the conclusion that these dont get good results from people that have fine hair - easy to starigjhten however for thoe who have unruly or thick hair etc these are good and im of the latter and i love them used them yesterday and my hair looks great had loads of comments x

thnx for the info, but I personally prefer the Karmin G3 Salon Pro , it has tourmaline ceramic plates that cause less damage and keeps my hair super straight, smooth and shiny. I totally recommend it ! :D
