Asda have the remote control electrical socket sets back in stock. You get 3 in each pack and they are made by Status. They are advertised at £5.00 in Stockport store but this is Nationwide. Now the good news is that at the till they come up at original price £15.00, so pay this then go to customer service with your receipt. They will give you the £10.00 difference back and a £2.00 gift card. So overall only cost you £3.00 - mega bargain !

I can confirm that this is radio Frequency---Saayinla

These are great. We reckon we're saving money by using these to switch off telly and stereo etc overnight. They were great at christmas as well to put on and off the tree lights without having to crawl round the back of the tree!!

got some of these the other week - they actually came up at £5 despite a £15 priice tag.
they are really useful., especially for elderly people who cant reach/bend over very easily.

the other good thing about these is you can store the signal from as many of them as you want on each of the 4 on/off buttons on just one of the remotes . so multiples of them can be operated in one go ( if that makes sense ) also they have a master `all off button` : )

This will only work if your store is advertising the set at £5.00. Asda has a policy that if you are charged a higher price than the advertised price then they give you back the difference and a £2 gift card. So if the shelf price states £5.00 but you are charged at the till / on your receipt £15 then you ask for the difference back i.e. £10.00. Worked in Stockport.

Went to Asda Stockport this morning and got the last 2 sets off the shelf!! Buzzing!! They scanned at £15.00 but I took the label with me to the checkout which incidentally was turned around on the shelf with a £5.00 price tag on it. Sneaky lol

Note that these will "forget" the pairing with the remote, if the power is switched off (at the switch). Only takes a few seconds to reprogram again, but worth noting.
Also, although you can assign muliple adaters to a single remote button, you cannot assign an adapter to more than one remote.
Aside from these two issues, these are great value. Buy some and work out what to do with them afterwards!

No luck in Cardiff Bay. Scans in and shelf labelled up at £15.

Nevermind

They had lots of them in the Minworth store yesterday priced at £5. They were not in the electrical department but on home and leisure with the light bulbs and torches.

These have been on offer at £5 in my ASDA for the last month, however, always OOS for me.

Finally, Xmas weekend, they had one pack on the shelf.

They are brilliant & all work fine.

Was going to pick another pack up on Saturday if in stock, and guess what-Loads in stock, but now repriced at £15!

Confirmed at £15, called a few stores and also confirmed item code, maybe they have gone back up....

These standby savers are poorly thought out. The idea is that the extension lead switches on when you use your remote to switch the TV on. However if the TV does not come on (my Panasoinic takes ages) then you need to swich the whole lot off again. Plus, because its infra red you need line of sight.

Works fine for me.

My TV (Samsung) goes off within a couple of seconds follwed by everything else. The IR reciever is on a 50cm lead so it's easy, for me, to tuck it up the side of the TV stand, negating the LOS problem. The big winner for me is that it works from the TV remote, last thing I need is another remote control in the living room.

I find that it saves a good amount of cash as the amp, subwoofer, blu-ray and TV all burn a few watts in standby.
