personally id say last i only bought the game because i got it as part of a controller bundle just couldnt get in to it the way i got into the first 3 games those hunters in the 1st one used to freak me out bad i even miss the bad dialogue lol ''barry, wheres barry?'' and something about nearly being a gerbil sandwhich

Easily above 3. On par with 4 comfortably, except it looks considerably better. I would say better than 2 as well, purely because 2 was far too easy, even if it was great.

Only complaint I've ever had about it is the occasional "arcade" style levels. Totally out of place in an RE game.
#10
Quick Q; is this 2 player coop, both being able to use a move controller (splitscreen)?

Gameplay wise, I would say its 2nd best (4 is still my favourite). Co-op is always fun, story is so-so but Resi was never really shakespeare to begin with. ;)
#12
wow. awesome price. the dlc alone probably costs more than this. heat and rep
#13
Thanks Andy, just ordered. :)
#14
You can play 2 player co op offline and online either using a move each or one uses move one uses dualshock
#15
yes just cancelled from shopto.net
#16
Cheers kaiser. It'll be like at an arcade but actually good! Ordered thanks ANDY!

I would say RE nowadays is just too easy...

Also if you hated the way RE has turned into from 4 then you will hate this. It is not one bit like RE Originals.

Can you run and shoot in this one? I remember that being a bit weird in RE4.
#20
Is this just like a GOTY edition with all the DLC included?

Great deal, standard version is about this price.
#21
No "move"ing and shooting though...lol
#22
Thanks just ordered, added heat :)

Come off it, RE 1 and 2 weren't that hard. Resident Evil 5 even has 4 difficulty levels and you can't say Professional is easy :P

Resident Evil 2 is by far the best, scry as well.

The new ones are good adventure games but can't touch the frightning old ones.
#25
Wow good price.

...just waiting for the "Isn't this Platinum, yes it definitely is Platinum" remark.
#26
5 isn't even in the same league as the earlier games. Maybe they should have just done away with the Resident Evil title, as its pretty much run out of steam. And Code Veronica was the best. ;) Heck Dino Crisis was scarier than RE5

Nope, theres no enchancement to this release. At least it includes the DLC.
#28
hmmm... I think I might avoid. I enjoyed 4 on the Gamecube, but it wasn't really Resi Evil.

First was and probably is the best, although I really enjoyed Code Veronica too.

Thanks for the replies too, very helpful.

For £12.99, with 15 quids worth of DLC included, they can draw pink flowers around the box for all I care.

I managed to sell my original version (no DLC, non-MOVE compatible) for £18 the other day as well ;)
#30
Thanks for that, ordered, now just got to convince the wife to let me get MOVE.

if you enjoyed 4 you'll prob enjoy 5 if youve xbox live you can download the demo of the game and see what you think
#32
I really enjoyed this game. Sure it is more action than horror but it plays well, looks fantastic and at £12.99 (plus quidco) it is certainly worth a purchase as I'm sure you will get most of your money back at an auction site if you are not satisfied (unlikely IMO).
Plus as Mr Carrot mentioned the DLC is worth the admission price alone.

Oh no it isn't

Look Mr C, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Platinum Edition sounds totally logical to me. Sure it is mixing elements but hey the game takes elements from the previous Resident evil games so why not the title.

:p
PS Sarcasm is so in at the moment.

Edited By: [email protected] on Aug 20, 2010 21:47: oops, was funnier in my mind

I think you will find this is actually the 'Resident Evil 5 Move Compatible Blue Circle Platinum Gold Edition' (TM).

I think you mean a "Jill sandwich" ;)

Personally I think the original remake of RE for the gamecube was the best. The graphics still hold up really well today and its fun to play even if the controls are clunky. The original styles were far scarier than the shoulder cam games but 4 still had its moments.
