The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360 to send shivers down player's spines.

Returning Resident Evil hero Chris Redfield has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. Now a member of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, Resident Evil 5 for Xbox 360 sees Chris head to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the population into mindless, maddened monstrosities. In Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360 Chris, together with fellow BSAA agent Sheva Alomar, must discover the truth behind this evil plot.

The sequel to one of the highest-rated videogames on Metacritic.com and Gamerankings.com, Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360 promises to revolutionise the series by delivering an unbelievable level of detail, realism and control. Featuring all-new co-operative online and splitscreen gameplay, adrenaline-pumping action and a story that sheds new light on Umbrella's origins, Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360 will redefines Survival Horror for a new generation of gamers.

Good game; Abit dry with just 1 player. Co-op with a friend makes this abit more exciting

Tempting but I think this one is only worth playing if you have a mate to do co-op with because playing with randomers on Live doesn't work and the co-op AI is awful.

The AI is great, at the higher difficulties it's less of a liability than a real person. You just have to know its quirks i.e. don't give it a standard handgun at that point.

Preowened... did Mark Owen have to check all the discs?

gonna wait for the gold edition to drop a bit i think

I don't know, when I played it I found that the AI just tended to steal all of the ammo for itself and then constantly run into packs of zombies and get killed, most of the people who drop into your game on Live are even worse though.

So which gun would you say to give it?

Only give it one gun, usually the secondary specialist guns. But if you're not using the handgun then give it to the AI, it's a really good shot. Its only problem is that it always defaults to the handgun you see. The AI is also much better for the traps and puzzle sections because it knows the paths and timings obviously, and won't make a mistake. I can only think of two situations in the game where you'd be running through a crowd of zombies, both involving docks, but I had no troubles as they're both short enough that you can trigger a cutscene. In any other situation you shouldn't be leaving the AI alone anyway, a real person would also get killed.

I finished Professional with the AI with no problems whatsoever, but then again, it had the two body armours and fully upgraded if not infinite ammo magnum at that point :P

Im trying to do the big boss which attacks the boat on pro skill. The ai is very slow and trying to heal me and I die a lot. A normal person would get there asap.

You shouldn't get hit at all and the boss fight should last about a minute max because by professional you should have the rocket launcher and the magnum.

I'm liking your tips, I might just get this game now.

Voted hot.

Yeah I found the AI pretty useless at higher difficulties, I still managed to complete it but it was a bit tougher.
The problem is, as mentioned, that you need to give her only one gun. I found she would shoot at enemies with a pistol even though she had a rocket launcher/machine gun...whatever.
The other problem is that she will just watch you die even though you are standing (or lying?) right next to her. During one boss battle I replaced all her inventory with health sprays, herbs and she still failed.

Still the QTEs aren't much more difficult at higher levels which is nice.

That's a problem with virtually every co-op AI at the moment though, which the only possible exception I know of being L4D. Gears of War is the absolute worst for it.

just ordered last night from gameplay at this price

Gears 1 is pretty much impossible in places on your own because you can revive the other guy but he can't revive you. They fixed it in Gears 2 and I had no trouble with them rescussing me but the single player is not nearly as good unfortunately!

I took care of my own healing in RE5 mostly but Sheva wasn't particularly bad at healing. On Pro, you're pretty much dead if you get hit once anyway, which is why you need the magnum, which kills most things including bosses in a few hits.
