The must have title of 2008 for many, cheapest available at the moment - after voucher and cashback are applied.

The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes a new terror to send shivers down player's spines. Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. Chris must take on the challenge of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom will teach players to fear the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games.

Co-producer and series veterans Jun Takeuchi (Lost Planet) and Masachicka Kawata (Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles) unleashes an unprecedented level of fear for the next generation in Resident Evil 5, the sequel to one of the highest-rated videogames in history, according to Metacritic.com and Gamerankings.com. Promising to revolutionize the series by delivering an unbelievable level of detail, realism and control, Resident Evil 5 is certain to bring new fans to the series. New technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evil will make this a must-have game for gamers across the globe.

Features:

* Chris Redfield, protagonist of the original Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Code Veronica, returns
* New environments and a diverse assortment of locations
* New enemies bring new challenges: speed and intelligence make adversaries as dangerous singly as they are in groups.
* An arsenal of weapons at the players command to keep the evil at bay, including knives, pistols, machine guns, sniper rifles and more.
* Lighting effects provide a new level of suspense in both harsh light and deepest shadow
* True high definition gaming on multiple game platforms, using an advanced version of Capcom's proprietary game engine, MT Framework, which powered the next-gen, million-plus hit titles Devil May Cry 4, Lost Planet and Dead Rising

Probably like MGS4 recently, you won't get this very cheap anywhere.

Should be about £31.14 once all discounts are applied.
#2
when is this due for release? its been delayed about a thousand times
#3
26/9 now, is the voucher working for anyone else?, looks like the attached voucher is dodgy :?
#4
Computer says no.............:

'You are not authorised to use this discount'.

Game or HMV will probably work out cheapest when it comes closer to release. Little point pre-ordering now, also wait for E3 as this is rumoured to be a 360 *timed* exclusive
#6
Gameplay codes are only one use per account and so if you've used it before then it won't work again. Either that or they've increased the minimum order value on it again ;-)

Eh? It shows on the Gameplay page ( http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/advanced_search.asp?keyword=resident%20evil ) that it will be available on both PS3 and 360 so how is it going to be 360 exclusive? Or is it like GTA4 where the 360 gets bonus DLC somewhere down the line?

Nope, it's my 1st ever Gameplay order, I got £69.98 in my basket too - Motorstorm Pacific Rift and RE5 - voucher is a dodo for me.

Come on! I think £31.14 is about the least you will pay for this game from now on -unless Game bring out a £5 off voucher-, for those who get the voucher to work this price is a very good deal - pre-order sorted.

it will be available on the 360 and ps3
a timed exclusive just means the ps3 version will be delayed
although its only a rumour

Gameplay must have disabled the voucher then, probably realised it's been used by too many people and were losing too much money :-D

Thanks for the clearing that up. I can't say I've heard of anything in the past where one platform release got deliberately delayed to have it slightly exclusive on another. :)

I think you'll find this was the case with the recent Unreal Tournament, time delayed on XBox 360 !!!

yeah unreal tournament had a few months exclustivity on the ps3

Grand Theft Auto
Rock Band
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil
Unreal Tournament
Tomb Raider

The list goes on and on. If it benefits a platform holder then they will stump up the cash, the publishers will usually accept as it's an easy way of making extra money.

It's only a rumour, but it is something to think about. Nothing much is known about this game and it's still a fair way off

Seems like I need to pay more attention to gaming release news then :-D

However, with MGS isn't it that case that Kojima was barely satisfied with the PS3 version due to space contraints? Surely then that rules out an X360 version unless they start doing multiple discs like Blue Dragon?

Kojima actually criticizes the PS3 CPU for being underpowered, not disc space.

"We wanted to create something revolutionary, but in reality we couldn't really do that because of the CPU. We're using the Cell engine to its limit"

I was actually refering to MGS1 and MGS2, but yes MGS4 is possible on the 360. I'd say with 90% certainty that you'll hear news of the 360 version or even the release by the years end. With compression it could easily fit on a few discs, so storage isn't really a problem when money can be made. Anyway back on topic!! :)

Money wont be taken until it's despatched, and the voucher will still be applied if you order within the date it's available.

However don't forget to cancel if you don't want it anymore!! Many times I've had a few copies of the same thing come through the door
