Is this any good? RE6 was gash, and that's from someone who loves the other RE games.

I've completed the demo a few times and if your a fan of the recent resident evil mechanics. Or the old style third person view point then this will feel like a completely different game. Towards the end of resident evil it became a bit silly and didn't feel at all scary. For me this is a complete remake from scratch and for once feels scary and builds tension well. This game is similar to Outlast if you've ever played that. Regardless give either a try (demo) from the online store. For me this could potentially be the best resident evil since code Veronica. Let alone if you have a PS4 with VR (or intention of getting it) it will be even more awesome. VR works perfectly with horror and it's scientific fact that it will increase your pulse and appear more scary with being more immersed.

Remember to buy some nappies as well, especially if you're playing in VR!

I thought both RE5 and RE6 was gash and I tried playing RE6 on PS4 last year and it was just awful. RE4 is so good though, I bought it for around a tenner on PS4 and got 50 hours of gameplay out of it.

Free VR demo called 'kitchen' is available in the store.
Best quality VR I have seen on the PS4 so far bodes well for this (and don't forget the latest resident Evil film touches down next week!!)

I think you can change them , it's to prevent motion sickness I believe

Thanks, Just ordered for pick up on 24th for xbox one :)

Would love to have pre-ordered this, but, I'm sans PS VR. Think that's akin to playing Wii Sports Resort with a traditional controller.

Cancelled my Amazon order and pre ordered from here to save a few quid. PSVR headset is primed and my hole is twitching like a rabbits nose, cannot wait.

You're better off playing the actual resident evil demo 'beginning hour'. It got full vr support recently and is very good in vr.

What's smyths like for preorders, do they arrive on time or just another zavvi?

Was gonna say the same thing. The Beginning Hour is harder to find on the store. But it is there. And we'll worth a play. Had my heart rate right up!

So no VR = pish?

Not sure where you're coming from with this comment. The full game is playable on a PSVR.

Anyone getting the candles for 4D experience?

I don't know how anyone thought a naked flame + VR was a good idea. I like the premise but they should have come up with a flameless solution.

You're gunna barf, it's fairly high on the nausea scale unless you've broken yourself in. I recommend short play sessions and as soon as you don't feel quite right, STOP!

Honestly, you'll want to keep playing thinking it'll subside but it doesn't and you end up paying for it and may put you off wanting to get back to it so soon.

It's funny you should say that. I have bad motion sickness on theme park rides and in the car but I haven't witnessed a single second of nausea using the PSVR!

I can't see an option to preorder. Also the add to basket option is 'greyed out'.

This is the game that MADE me make the purchase of the PSVR. I'm pretty big on horror experiences, films and games, they don't affect me at all, I was almost laughing my head off when I was being dragged through dungeons and prisons in the pitch black (Galleries of Justice).

However, the kitchen demo had me genuinely scared. Just goes to show how 'real' Virtual Reality can look, if done properly. I think I may pre-order the candle to give it an extra dimension of realness! Nappies at the ready......

In options theres an option to alter it you need to change to smooth then it loses the myst style movement.

Different people react differently to PSVR in terms of motion sickness. I've never had a problem with it and have been happily playing it for long sessions since I got it on launch day.

Anyone pre-ordered from smyths before? Just wondering about delivery times.

There's a candle available online meant to smell like the house in the game... personally wouldn't risk having a lit candle in the same room when you've got the headset on and headphones in! Hmm why am I feeling warm all of a sudden? oO
