IIRC this alarm only give you an entry delay of 15 seconds between opening your door and the alarm going off. For my family, that's not enough.

I've had the former Response wireless system (yellow siren) for about 10 years now. Overall very pleased with it.
These newer white siren systems are not compatible with the older yellow siren systems.

I personally prefer to have the broader programming flexibility of their full size control panels. If you already have one of these systems (or were about to buy one) then this basic set might also be a very cost-effective way of extending your system by adding a secondary siren and additional sensors (shed/garage?, etc).

    Excellent price. Heated.

Thanks OP, my daughter has been looking for something like this. She'll be very pleased.

Looks ok, but who actually cares if it goes off? The way community spirit is at the moment your neighbors will be narked at the noise and secretly hope you're being robbed and they'll certainly not phone the law, who would not turn up anyway. Other than that, its hot ;-)

Hot deal this, but my only reservation is the company, the most shocking customer service ever.

Helpful is you're in bed asleep at the time of the break in.

I have never installed an alarm and I am pretty DIY abysmal...probably even struggle to install the Siren outside with a ladder and drill...

Thinking about getting a cheap disposable ... just to see if it is any good ... or is it not worth the hassle in the long run ...

Have the SL6 Response Alarms. They are relatively easy to install, wireless and very easy to pair with the main device.
The deal posted here if for SL2, guess there will be some features less than SL6, but overall is a good (and reliable) alarm kit.
Have some heat for the price!

Not heard of a disposable alarm before, but that one looks like it will eat batteries.

What is it you want to protect?

Who? the retailer or the manufacturer? My experience of the Response Helpline has been excellent.

Only issue I've had with B&Q are the returns staff, I've needed to remind them of my rights a few times.

You will have more control with the Yale one, but the Response one has the solar panel built in.

Perhaps I have been unlucky, my experience was very different. I have purchased this alarm system and also a Friedland doorbell which are both made by this manufacture. Both had problems which I could not resolve with the retailer, so I turned to the manufacture for help, it was a bad experience on both items, I found them very unhelpful.

with this Response solar panel siren, you need to make sure you fitted it on a south facing wall (noted that the sun changes position through out the year). if you are unlucky and have a spell of low sunlight (and if the siren runs out of power, it will not recover even if it gets sunny), you will need to climb the ladder and recharage the battery from mains.
also with some eaves it may drop deposite on the solar windows, the manual recommended you climb the ladder twice a year to clean it to avoid the battery dying.
the solar panel recharagable battery will last a few years, afterward you can buy these batteries on ebay (cost just over a tenner for cheap generic ones)
Lastly when you buy these unit, check the solar siren battery date. if its older than 2 years (or expired), return it (the manual asked you to check anyway). These shops are not great in stock rotation and some these stock maybe on shelf for ages (and the particular battery used got a pretty short shelf life compared to alkaline durcell 5yr+ etc). Out of date battery may die pretty often (or simply not work). thats a lot of ladder climbing through out the year so check first.
    hope this helps!

How did you reserve it with the lower price now? It appears full price.
