That's a cool looking lamp but I heard a lot of stores don't accept sim card returns anymore for obvious reasons.

Careful there is no bulb with the lamp - not sure how much they are but you are going to have to go out and look for one.

you can get the bulbs from Wilko's about 80p each... just make sure you get the right one though as i went back twice... I have the lamp in cream, very nice, but gets very hot...

Aren't conventional incandescent lamps being banned? If so, this lamp may well prove useless in a year unless you can buy a CFL to fit...

lol no way are they being "banned"

Yes, they are being "banned":

"Traditional light bulbs are to be banned from 2010, EU energy ministers have decided.":
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/3174452/Traditional-lightbulbs-banned-by-EU.html

"European Union Energy Ministers decided in Luxembourg recently to ban incandescent light bulbs in Europe as of 2010."
http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/10/incandescent-light-bulb-ban-eu.php

Loads more articles highlighting the "ban", take your pick: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=light+bulb+ban+eu&btnG=Search&meta=

lol you really believe that don't you,
its all just talk to make it look like something is being done for the environment. They will just end up taxing them and their price will go up marginally.

What about people who go into seizures because of fluorescent lights? I suppose they will just have to live in the dark right........

I dont see why the government cant promote newer technology like led's instead of ancient poisonous fluorescent lights.

I know for a fact they are still readily available in Ireland with no signs of phasing them out hmm.....

got exactly the same lamp when M&S were selling it a few years ago, good lamp for bedside , heavy stand etc, bought 2 but one was shonky & couldn't be bothered to take it back! ..very stylish though.
yes the surround does get hot with a conventional bulb, not so hot with a cfl, cfl's are nice for bedroom lamps as they don't give full strength straight away perfect for not burning retinas first thing in the morning!

I paid more than this a few years ago. good deal
