Sounds like a good deal. Was going to add heat. But because I was holding my mobile at an odd angle, the app picked up one of my fingers as touching the cold button.

Sorry. Doesn't seem I can undo it either :(
haha thanks for the honesty :D

I was actually looking at the Vans post with some for 50% off and thought I'll have a look for some sunnies. Yours were great don't get me wrong and I voted hot but come on, yours didn't have a FREE Womdee Accessory :p

Would happily remove if you are offended though :)

If sunglasses don't have a uv protection layer then your eyes will be damaged.
Your pupils will expand behind the tinted glass and allow all the uv rays damage the back of you eyes.

After a quick google, it seems UV400 are what all UK sunglasses must be rated to, which includes these. (you can see a UV 400 label on the orange picture).

nothing is entirely true on amazon or ebay. Not to scare you but I bought one cheap ones few years back. It marked as UV400 but after i used it a few days I had some weird visual symptoms like floaters and stuff. Not sure if my eyes have already shown some damages by those cheap sunglasses, have gone to eye A&E for an emergency check but they didn't find anything wrong with my eyes. Anyway I've gone through a deep depression and regrets even I'm not sure if it's caused by the sunglasses. I can still see floaters whenever the day is bright but I get used to it after going through all these madness for years. Great lesson learnt. Hope you guys don't make a big mistake just because something is cheap.

Seems like utter rubbish to me, you wear a pair of sunglasses for a couple of days and it causes damage to your eyes you go through a deep depression?. Did you spend all day looking at the sun?.

well do you think I just made up a story? for what? sympathy for likes?
I was wearing it while i was spending a week in Berlin and Prague in spring few years back. It was sunny for a whole week there. I wasn't wearing it all the time but the UV intensity could be sufficient enough to progress certain damage.
It was from my past experience if you think it's rubbish you can just disregard my advice and go on. Just make sure you don't come back whining if you develop weird visual symptoms. Anyway, without the pain of losing something you used to have in your whole life you won't understand the level of depression I've gone through.

Some UV400 sunglasses have been known to have the UV filtering coating rub off with frequent cleaning of the lenses with rough cloth, but with care any should last the rest of the summer. I'd be more concerned about the hinges.

Let me shed some light on this for you...

No sunglasses, bright light, small pupils, less UV let in.
With Sunglasses, dim light, larger pupils, more UV let in.

As far as I am aware, in dark conditions such as at night or wearing sunglasses, your pupils will widen (dilate) to allow more light into your eyes. If the glasses you are wearing doesn't offer full UV protection then those UV rays will be damaging your eyes. This is why in most cases it's better to wear nothing at all as opposed to a poorly protected pair of sunglasses as your pupils will constrict and minimise the amount of light to enter.

There is no correlation between the price of sunglasses and the amount of UV protection it offers. So if this particular pair of sunglasses in this deal does offer that stated protection than great. I would personally go for a more reputable brand.

Yeah, the problem is with really cheap stuff like this is that they can say what they like in the blurb. Nobody is gonna question it or have them analysed to make sure they are UVP. I would feel uneasy wearing them.

I hate myself for posting something from the Daily Mail but here's an article that may add some more information on the matter regarding cheap/expensive sunglasses and their level of protection: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2374185/Are-cheap-sunglasses-safe-We-asked-eye-expert-analyse-cut-price-shades.html

Also, any optician should have a UV metre in store, so if anyone has these glasses already, maybe they can take it to their local and get them checked real quick? It would settle every argument in this thread :D8)

you eye will protect itself, puttin on sunglasses fools the eye into a state where it wont protect itself.
