Crossings are Dover Boulogne - which is South West of Calais and has never had traffic problems when I have been there. Its where the old Speed Ferries sailed to prior to falling victim to the recession.

Deals are...

£20 each way car and two passengers - any duration on quieter crossings or far in advance.

£18 for a motorbike and two passengers

Also starting at £28 for a car and four passengers

This port if best if travelling south - if you intend to go east into Europe then Norfolk Line to Dunkirk is best.

The following crossings are also available - but are pretty long crossings and best if you plan to see the north west coast.

Portsmouth - Le Havre £20

Newhaven - Dieppe £20

Remember if you are going North Ramsgate is great for Ostend and a new fast cat service starts to Bolougne from Ramsgate in March

Oh so that's only a year after it was first meant to. I wonder if this service will ever start, already had 3 'start dates' come and go. To be sure of a bargain fare on the dates you want go elsewhere.

Or from £ 14 Dover - Calais with NorfolkLine or £ 19 with Seafrance.

Bear in mind the Ramsgate - Ostend crossing takes at least 4 1/2 hours and there are only three crossings a day. The ships are cramped 30-year-old ex-Belgian-Railways (anyone remember the good old Sealink?) vessels.

holidays....here we come....lol

Thanks for this, Norfolk Line is probably cheaper for Dover, but the Portsmouth/Newhavens are useful.

Dieppe is also about 60 miles closer to Euro Disney than Calais so quite useful if combining with that special offer.

Heat for this.

Just what we were waiting for.

Thx

Day trip return with P&O Ferries (upto 9 pas = car) for only £19 with FREE case of red or white wine plus voucher for B.O.G.O.F meal

This seems a better deal to me as posted by Parisp a couple of days ago, free case of wine as well.

I think every Dover-Boulogne crossing in May and June is £44 (£22 each way) for 4 adults and car, great deal.

This a a great deal - we save several hundred pounds each year by filling our car with cheap plonk on day/weekend ferry trips (and it's always quite a pleasant experience mooching around the shops in France). Also, it's being reported today that the government, to combat binge driinking, aims to slap a minimum price on alcohol products: £4.50 for a bottle of wine, for example. So I will definitely continue to buy my favourite tipple in France!

It's a different type of deal, though. This one is for open ended tickets, ideal for a short break.

The other one is for a day trip only.

2 great, but different, deals.
