In short it's very good at what it does. It doesn't include GPS et al but none of them do at this price point. The images captured are spot on though, really clear which ultimately is what you need.

you do have to add a microSD card but they're inexpensive enough if you follow the deals on hotukdeals :{

I bought this just over a month ago, excellent product and well worth the £49 I paid for it. Bargain at this price.

This is older tec as its using a battery, latest idea is capacitor powered. I think this to overcome batteries being heated up on the windscreen, not much of a problem in UK but they are manufacturing for a global market.

Great price. I already have one but just bought another.

Maybe worth linking to US amazon where it is the No1 bestseller with 2600+ reviews..:

You tuck it around the trim and it isn't visible. Makes me gawk when you see people with the camera smack bang in the middle of the windscreen with wires everywhere.

You do know you can make the cable about 90% hidden

Deal has ended.

Gearbest have the newer capacitor version for a little cheaper if you don't mind waiting.

Gear Best looks like a little less build quality than the one stated above. and a lot less good reviews. Some in foreign languages. Does anyone know why the Rexing model has a GPS port?? Sorry don't mean to seem ignorant but didn't know that this can be configured externally?

...the GPS that is...

The Buttons on the Gear Best looks a bit cheapy and so do the ports for SD card and 'port plug ins'. But also what can you expect for this price-point. Still don't get why a lot of Dash Cams only have 1080 pixels?? I thought we're way past the 1 mega Pixel stage with today's tech. I know it could be about cheaper pricing point but other than the convenience I can rather use an app on my phone - ultimately Much better picture quality!

£49.99?
#14
Yeah, it was a lightning deal.

I'm not sure what sort of GPS you could plug into the V1. Looking on their website I'm not entirely sure they know either. But if you're that concerned about GPS you're better off buying a different nit with it all in. This is just a basic dashcam, albeit a very good one.

1080p isn't 1 megapixel, it's 2 megapixel (1920x1080=2,073,60). 720p = 1 megapixel, 1080p = 2, 4k = 8, 8k = 32

How's the actual video quality and reliability of these cheap cams? Pixels count for nothing if the quality and framerate are inconsistent, or if the low light performance is bad. I've been a little put off by a bad experience I had with an SJCam action cam last year - not only was the framerate hellish (despite claiming 60fps) but it had a nasty habit of corrupting files as I tried to transfer them from the SD card.

If you look on YouTube for A118 dash cam there are about a million (slight exaggeration) for you to look at the quality. It's big brother (actually smaller) the A119 has better quality video but is twice the price.

Got this camera in my car for four months now, no problems. upgraded from g1w cam (had 1st gen for nearly 3 years)

128GB micro card works fine in it too. (format with smartdisk fat32 tool)
