Hot from me i ordered this set http://www.amazon.co.uk/Richardson-Sheffield-Amefa-Cutlery-Piece/dp/B001E6H0XO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1235807459&sr=1-1 when they were on offer and they are excellent quality. :thumbsup:

We've got some Richardson cutlery and it's not very good quality. Most of it's rusted, even though it's supposed to be dishwasher safe and stainless steel. On the other hand, all of the cutlery we've had from Ikea has been very good. So just because it's cheap shouldn't mean it's sub-standard.

They are guaranteed for 50 years so send them back.

From the manufacturer;

All the pieces are dishwasher safe, although we do advise that they are hand dried to keep them in tip-top condition. Although we do not envisage you having any problems with the cutlery they come with a 50-year Amefa backed guarantee, offering you peace of mind with your purchase.

I did actually ring them up and it took ages to get through to someone and I was advised to return them, which would've been at my own expense with the time money and effort exceeding the outlay.

I just now know to avoid the brand.

Well i have just phoned Amazon and they said if there are any problems with them under the guarantee they will send pre-paid packaging so they can be returned absolute no brainer.

I dealt with Richardson direct for the guarantee service as you would. I doubt very much whether Amazon would be sending you out pre-paid envelopes for the entirety of the 50 year manufacturers guarantee.

If you think Amazon are going to be sending you pre-paid envelopes for the duration of a 50 year manufacturers warranty you're both misinformed and misconceived.

I'm pretty certain they'd act like any other retailer and give you reasonable returns for about 28 days. After that you take it up with the manufacturer.
