Stunningly good headphones equally wired and wirelessly, but look in a local Curry's, where they may be selling them to clear for £80.
Amazon had these on a lightning deal for £79 the other day, may be worth waiting to see if they pop up again

Samsung UE48H6400 48" 3D TV with 6yr warranty £399.00 in store Richer Sounds

Excellent TV with a big reputation. This is the lowest price I have seen it, and it comes with the Richer Sounds 6 year warranty. Available in store only. I know it is a 2014 model, not 4K, no HDR

When will BBC and itv show 4K is it years away ??? If so I'd be interested in this
I have this exact same tv, i cannot fault it. brilliant Tv, sound is good, picture quality on sd is very good, and the smart remote works perfectly. been using this for two years, great TV, and great smart features.
If you're not going to feed it 4K content then what's the point in getting a 4K tv - it's only going to cause lower quality images to look diabolical
I have this exact TV, bought from RS online in November for £499. Great TV, if you aren't fussed about 4k,
Also comes with 2 glasses, and the smart remote (as well as the standard remote)
I've got the 40 inch model and I can safely say this TV is great value for money.

Don't think it will totally put me off; hopefully 4K bluray players will have an additional HDMI out to combat the HDCP issue.
I was about to buy the Denon x2100 until I read about the HDCP 2.2 stuff
How does this fare to the Denon AVR-2100?
Looks like a sofa...
Been this price for quite some time. Same price at Superfi and Peter Tyson will price match.

Tip for anyone looking to buy: Check your eBay account to see if you have a paypal discount code for 10% off electronics and use it to buy off the Richer Sounds eBay shop...I just did and got it for 269.95 & Free Delivery (and 299 Nectar Points)! ;)

Where did you find this within your eBay account? Thanks.

If you have the offer you will see it on eBay under the product price!
Help.

I've seen the 1050 for £469 delivered, is it work £170 more than the 1040. I've rang Richer Sounds for some advice as they'd price-match the £469 but the 1040 is an absolute steal at less than £300. Do you really get £170 more when buying the 1050?

I know the 1050 has Bluetooth built-in but you can stick a Logitech Bluetooth Adaptor on the 1040 for £30.

Anyone?

Mine arrived yesterday..unfortunately I seem to be having the handshake issues, whereas the STR-DH820 it was replacing didn't :(

Major when you get the chance can you tell us if the sound quality improved: 820 vs 1040?
Sound quality is the most important thing to me...not bluetooth or wifi functionality.

Thanks.
Excellent deal. Also £10 off if you sign up to the VIP list.

My local store was out of stock last week, picked mine up yesterday. Time to play. :D
I was recently looking for an AVR with 2 hdmi outs and considered this Sony, but the problem I had was that these are not rated for 4 ohm speakers. So I went with onkyo tx nr 626 which supports 4 ohms.

No apt-x means crap sound quality, so not for me.

How come you're so sure? Bluetooth 4.0 could give up to 25mbps bandwidth, 1.4 is needed for uncompressed CD quality. A possible advantage of apt-x might be less transfers, and less power consumption (thus more battery life).

Not sure if it applies here so feel free to correct me, but bluetooth never sends raw audio, it always applies some compression and those compression schemes will have their own characteristics and typical bit rate limits. A case in point is MP3, it can go up to at least 600kbit/s but no one uses that because not everything supports it, and the quality benefits beyond 240kbits/s are negligible. The problem is that for bluetooth every encoding scheme has ancient roots so gets poor efficiency and low maximum bit rates. Without playing around with bluetooth (new codecs) you always lose significant quality due to the codecs in use being ancient tech designed for phone calls not music.

Good point. But I think it needs to be discerned what these headphones are using. The original comment made out that only Apt-x gets any good quality, and it's automatically "crap" otherwise. But given bandwidth isn't an issue, it may well be they use different high quality codecs, which may be good enough to not tell the difference, when they are able to.

Edit; I see the user who sent the original comment is now suspended...perhaps a troll

My knowledge on codecs in use is a bit out of date, but apt-x was the only one of the few to actually get quality comparable to say a decent MP3. I'm just reading up in another tab, apparently apt-x lossless is better still... anyway, the point is with cans like these you will probably be able to hear bluetooth being a bit sucky. I'm a bit confused as to why this product exists, it has to be for some strange person who is an audiophile but wants to take their cans on the bus... any time there's no background noise you will hear the quality loss of bluetooth :(

Reading on Wikipedia, A2DP (which I assume this uses), can optionally support MPEG4 and AAC. Which should give good quality, if it is supported by this set of headphones.

That would be interesting, I'd want to see how optionally (i.e. will smartphones support it, they're the most likely things)

32 inch got awards on whathifi. Is this any good? How does this compare to the kdl42w653?

Reviews for both this TV and the Sony KDL42W653 are fantastic. The Panasonic has an extra HDMI input, but on the whole not much between the two. I guess head to your nearest store and compare pictures. My friend has the Panasonic and the picture is stunning. Heat added as best price around at the moment!

Great price, normally £600 or more. The stands make the satellites look cool too.

I just reserved mine. Have to travel 10 miles to get it though. bu definitely worth it

Had I had the £££ at the time, I would have got these over my Monitor Audio Vectors, though I'm chuffed with those all the same. Coupled with a tasty amp the Harmon Kardon AVR171's that come up at around £250 sometimes, or a Sony DN1040 for £400 and you'll have an exceptional setup.
