Shame there isnt much meat in them and loads of water !

Ingredients

Pork (42%), Water, Pork Fat (10%), Rusk (Wheat), Potato Starch, Soya Protein Concentrate.
Ingredients less than 2%: Salt, Flavourings, Stabilisers: Diphosphates, Guar Gum; Antioxidants: E300 & E307; Preservative: Sodium Metabisulphate, Colour: Cochineal.

]22p each Richmond Irish Recipe 8 Thick Pork Sausages, £ 1 .74 per 454g pack

Per sausage: 180 cals, 12.9g fat, 4.9g saturates, 1.1g salt (uncooked)

Pork content: 41 per cent

How it compares: Claims to be made from the best products but water is the second main ingredient and they contain 10 per cent pork fat, flavourings, guar gum and a colouring in addition to the usual additives you'd find. Expensive for the overall quality

they are actually some of the better sausages you buy - http://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Richmonds-Sausages/44871011 i think pretty much all sausages are made with the cheaper bits of meat - but these taste nice and seem to be of better quality:thumbsup:

They do taste nice but that's because of the flavourings put in them not the meat :)

Same price in Spar.

Even my cat won't eat these, not all sausages are the same we buy a bit of meat and have them done that way.

42%...lol!!!
decent ones are 70-92%
best ones are from farm shops/independents

I used to eat these until I moved out into the countryside, then got spoiled by an array of 70 different sausages our local butcher makes themselves, I now couldn't go back, nice find though..

About as poor as sausages get, yet not as cheap as own brand "bottom of the pile" Value/Smartprice sausages, which is what they are competing with!

They are cheap, but not worth the low price.

As it happens I actually CAN'T eat this type even if I wanted to, as they are so full of carbohydrate filler, they set off my Insulin Resistance/Reactive Hypoglycaemia! I have to eat meat products that actually contain a LOT more MEAT!

Kids love 'em.

co-op were doing some ~74% pork (I think, top of my head) cumberland sausages, 8 for £1 - much much nicer than these (I think usual price was £2?)

I avoid these like the plague to be honest - each to their own but try the co-op ones (or have a word with any decent butcher) and you'll realise why I say that.
