Needed a printer for work this week that was laser based for printing on laser PCB masks (yeah pretty specialist) - so had to look for a deal as not too many cheap laser deals on at the mo.

I know some people will say not as good as the historical £21 groupon code deal - but that was 7 months ago, and I couldnt find much at all for £30 with a starter toner and wireless. Certainly the cheapest anywhere at the mo far as I can see - and still a good deal for what it is :D

3rd party 3k page replacement toners availiable on ebay and like for bout £17 - cheap printing right there.

Print 22ppm
Print Resolution 1200 x 600 dpi
Fast 25 second warm-up
First print delivered in 10 seconds
150 sheet front loading paper tray
Ships with 700 page starter cartridge
Wireless / USB 2.0 Connectivtiy
2 Year Warranty

Hopefully helps someone :D

Laser printers use powder toner, not liquid ink, so drying ink isn't a problem. I switched from inkjet to a colour Ricoh laser for occasional use, and it prints first time every time, even after not being used for weeks or even months on end.

I don't print much, does the ink dry up on these? Really sick of my Epson R200, moans every print that one of the cartridges has ran out when it was full oO

Laser PCB masks? Tell us more .. Still using vero/breadboard here for my oddities, so if this can branch me into the field of PCB making at home I might bite! :3

Well there is the laser transfer method (best googling it for a tutorial as the pics are almost self explanatory)
If your designs are not too complex it works quite well... I would buy a resist pen to touch-up the inevitable small bits that dont stick down when you lift 'off'.

I have done the transfer method it but now need something more reproducible for multiples, so... now I need to print on transparency-like stuff thats suitable for a UV box and its like £25 for 5 sheets of inkjet compatible stuff, and less than a tenner for 25 of the laser-printable version, so I am going to that... but I dont want to mess up my good printer for work either, so hence needed a cheapie laser to do this :D

I use diptrace for drawing the pcb and then its a case of print, expose by UV, then etch, which you can do a variety of ways depending on budget, drill your holes and your done 8)

I had trouble tried wps etc, only got it to work by assigning an iP address and it works flawlessly even through app on android, also bought this replacement toner and it seems to work as good as original:

Great printer, setup in minutes wihtout hitch.

I very sproadically use the printer and was sick of epsons being blocked when I did go to use them :)
Had mine over a year now and still on the first toner

You'll need the Ricoh Print and Scan app.
The printer will need to be networked, either wireless or via Ethernet connected to a laptop / pc / print server.
Once the printer is on the network, find its IP address. I use Fing Network Tools app to scan my network devices (the printer will show up under Ricoh.)
Enter the IP you found in the Ricoh app (Settings > Devices > Search Devices > Add Via IP). The IP will begin with something like 192.168.0....

If you're having issues with wireless connection, install the printer under windows and then enter the printers IP in a web browser, go to the network option in the menu which shows, and manually enter the wireless password and name there.

If you want to use Google Cloud print, the printer will need to be connected to an always on PC / Server etc. Open Google Chrome and add your networked printer under Printers. Make sure you're signed into your Google account. Now your printer will be available wherever you are, including outside your network when accessed via Google Cloud Print

This is an excellent printer. I bought mine on a Groupon last July & the toner has only just run out - I print hundreds of pages every month, so I'd say it's been phenomenal value for the £30.98 I paid for it + TCB (of course!!)

Great printer at this price...

Be warned though, the wireless is not only the worst technology ever, and I mean dark ages, but it also fails over and over. We've had several of these and in the end I gave up and just use them over USB....

Great budget laser printer for the money though

For those that live in Birmingham, specifically East Birmingham, Box have a store near Minworth where you can collect products from to avoid shipping charges and to receive same day.

I got this on the Groupon deal and can only echo the earlier comments. It's a great printer - excellent quality print, smallish footprint, toner seems to be lasting ages. Bargain at £30.

Does not work with Macs, so no good for me.

From the deal page: "**** PLEASE NOTE: This printer only supports Windows Operating Systems - Apple IOS only supports Mobile or Tablet via the Ricoh Printer App ****"

I bought this, couldn't get wireless to work (I think my router is dodgy) but other than that I love it - use it every day, works fine, aligns pages for labels better than my old laser printer, would definitely buy again at this price.

Can't help you on the other methods but to use Google Cloud print you need Android 4.4 Kit Kat, could that be your problem? I'm developing an app and set this up for my app last week, I was developing for 4.0 devices but had to upgrade the APK to 4.4 so I could make it available. It wasn't that difficult but your app also has to include support for printing (I don't see it on the Firefox app for instance). The Google Cloud print app isn't an app as such, it just gives your device printing capabilities, there's no settings to deal with.

I have mine set up for a Ricoh SP201n wired network printer which works great but if I have to reset the printer for whatever reason then I need to reinstall all drivers for it which is a pain.

I've got mine connected up wirelessly to my Rasp Pi so that I can print to it from a Chromebook. Presumably that would also work for Mac.

I bought this last time around, its a great printer!

I've got this, it's great the only thing I'd say is set the ip address, don't let it change. I connected something else and then turned on my printer and couldn't get it to print, I had to set it up again which was a pain, it seems to like the same address, since I fixed it there's been no problems.

For existing owners/users who find the wifi a bit troublesome, I agree. However, a quick fix is to update the printer IP address in the printer settings.

This happens because like most sane people you switch off your printer and only turn it on when needed, however, in most usual router settings, doing so allocates a new IP address to your printer.
