Gamestation are offering

Ridge Racer 7 For Playstation 3

Only £25.99 Delivered

CRAZY PRICE

A Sony console launch just wouldn't be complete without a Ridge Racer title, would it? Not wishing to disappoint, Bandai Namco is onto the case with the inspiringly-titled Ridge Racer 7.

As with any entry into the Ridge Racer series, it's all about pretty cars, pretty girls, speed and fun. You'll take to 22 of the world's most exhilarating (and fictitious) courses with 40 of the world's fastest (also fictitious) cars at your disposal.

The racing itself pushes you towards clean lines, powerslides and nitrogen feeds. If you get your power slides right around hairpin bends (something we wouldn't recommend on real roads) you'll be rewarded with increased nitrogen levels sat in your engine. When you choose to release said nitrogen, you'll be rewarded with a hefty burst of speed and a nice little flame popping out of your exhaust (something else we wouldn't recommend in real life). There's a simple equation at work here: corner + powerslide = nitrogen; nitrogen + clean line = your chance to win the race.

New to the Ridge Racer franchise is the option to customise your vehicle. 375,000 visual customisations are on offer, with 7,150 tuning customisations up for grabs. If that doesn't keep even the most hardcore racing fan satisfied, well, they're going to have to go sign up for an illegal drag race in the supermarket car park.

People vote cold on anything PS3 because its fashionable to hate Sony at the moment.

Great deal voted hot!

I've got this game, it's not particularly good though unfortunately.

This is a decent title, but F1 beats anything on any platform.

I've been highly impressed by the surround output from the PS3- blows my X360 right out of the water. Funnily, most people only look at graphics and forget the v.important sound element although F1 beats everything in the graphical department too ;)

Mines is a few years old, it's a Sony System but when bought at the time won many awards and was highly rated. I'll have to check the model number... I can't emphasise enough how good the output from the PS3 for sound is... it would be a shame to not use surround on it. My X360 sounded average at best also via optical out.

I agree with the sound! I had a Xbox 360 optical too, the PS3 is so much better.

Ridge Racer is cheaper on eBay....

Isnt it dependent on the game developers though? What games have impressed you so much? Ill be getting a 5.1 system at some point :)

Cool game!

was looking forward to this game but reviews looking not too good. Still a good price if you like the ridge racer games :)
#15
I was disappointed to find this is a cut down port of the last 360 ridge racer.

Yes that counts for a big part too. But it seems every title I tested on the PS3 had amazing sound (this might be due to do with the fact that it also works very well as a blu-ray player so Sony installed high quality audio hardware). The same can't be said for the X360 with the testing I have done so far. Gran Turismo HD has an amazing bass effect from inside the vehicle for example and on all other titles output fills the room and is crisp and clean. F1 is probably the finest example though. The system is 7.1 compatible too which makes it unique. So high is the quality in fact, that it seems surreal at times ;-)

Yeah me too :(
I think there maybe a track or two more though.

Yeah, it's only visuals but come on.
